HELLO…

Hello Everyone… This week we have the Santa Shop. Our time slot for shopping at the little store in the library is on Wednesday December 11, 2019 at 1:15 PM. Today an envelope with a gift name suggestion was sent home. If you would like your child to participate, please fill out the form with the allocated amount of money and return the correct amount of money in the envelope for easy shopping on Wednesday.

We are on our way to the countdown to Winter Break. With the excitement of a break coming and Santa Claus…. Our Behavior has gone a little sour. Please if I can have some help from you all to remind our little friends that we need to use a whisper voice when talking to each other. Following directions the first time. From Mrs. Tiba, Principal…

Lindbergh Community

To ensure student safety and maintain communication, I am sharing the following information to inform and not to alarm you regarding an incident experienced by one of our students.

During dismissal, one of our students was walking home on North Waverly when a white Explorer with tinted windows started following him, it honked its horn at him and appeared to drive and stop as the student continued to walk.  It wasn’t until the student got to his car that the other car left.  The student did the right thing and stayed away from the car.  This incident has been reported to the proper channels.

Please make sure to review stranger danger with your child.  Below are a few tips if needed:

  • If students walk or ride bikes to school, it is best to do so in groups
  • Be alert of your surroundings
  • Identify safe houses and adults in the neighborhood
  • Report any suspicious activities to an adult

We appreciate your help as we work together to keep all of our students safe.Zainah TibaPrincipalCharles A. Lindbergh Elementary School

From PTA….

Greetings Flyer Families and Friends! We all know that the holidays are supposed to be times of togetherness and joy, but for many families they can be stressful and anxiety filled. The idea was brought to us to launch a drive to help a local family in need this holiday and everyone was excited to be a part of it.So here it is Flyers…The First Annual Lindbergh Adopt-A Family Program!
This year we will be supporting the family of a local woman, recently divorced and living in supportive housing with her 7 children. She’s a graduate of Divine Child and works full time but is having a hard time making ends meet. The children range in ages from 6 to 18, two of which have a disability. Each family member took some time and wrote out a wish list. The lists are far from flashy and contain many simple necessities. Things like fluffy blankets and pillows, twin sheets, household supplies, boots and shoes. They also include fun things like footballs, Pokemon cards, scrunchies, Popsockets, gift cards and purses. We’d love to make this a holiday to remember for this family so here’s where we come in Flyers!!
We understand not everyone is able to get into the school to choose a tag so we’ve established 3 ways for you to donate:1. Select a tag from the “gift tree” that we have placed in the lobby. Wrap the gift, attach the tag and place in the bins we will place in the lobby. Take some time to look at the tags, there are some good ones in there! Again, they aren’t flashy and many are only in the $5 range.2. Drop a gift card in the office in ANY denomination (no gift is too small) to one of the following locations:    Target, Amazon, Kroger OR Aldi 3. The PTA will have a table and donation jar at Bingo for Books this Friday to collect cash donations, things already purchased and help w tag selection!

These are by no means the only ways to give. We are open to suggestions. The only thing that is FIRM is the deadline.DEADLINE FOR DONATIONS IS DECEMBER 16th
We’ve already gotten things rolling with EXTREMELY generous gifts from Executive Dentistry in Dearborn and The Dearborn Goodfellows!(If you know of a Lindbergh family that could use some help this season, please contact Ms. Tiba or any PTA board member)
Questions/donation arrangements can be sent to:Danielle Lewis – ddoliveriolewis@gmail.com Sarah Neubauer – Neubauer156@gmail.comThanks to everyone in advance and Happy Holidays!

Enjoy your time with your families… Happy Thanksgiving!

FROM THE PTA….

Hello Lindbergh Families,
Due to our very welcome (or unwelcome for some) snow day….and the cancelling of conferences, we are going to continue as planned with our meal schedule for conferences.  So tomorrow, just follow the dates of the signup genius and when conferences are rescheduled we will repost about the other meal.  Thank you if you have already signed up, if you haven’t but would like to bring something feel free to check it out and sign up.  Also, the teachers always welcome any treats, so don’t feel like you can’t bring it in just because it isn’t on the sign up.  As always, thank you all so very much for your time, donations and in helping keep our teachers fed on these very, very long conference days.  Don’t forget PTA meeting, Tuesday, November 19th 7pm in the cafeteria.
 Kind Regards, Danielle
