A couple of reminders… The family poster for our Leadership day is due soon( Thursday May 24, 2016). These posters will be hung on your child’s locker for our Leadership Day on June 2, 2016.

The Leader In Me Committee is having a toy drive for the sick children at Children’s Hospital.  Please consider donating if you can to this cause.

Donuts for Dads is on Friday June 10, 2016.  Please return the yellow sheet with a YES or NO.

Remember that Friday and Monday we have NO SCHOOL!

I wanted to thank each Mother for taking the time to spend an enjoyable morning with us.  We were so excited to have each of you today at school.  Thank you again for making Muffins for Mom a fun activity to do. I hope you all enjoyed our celebration for you! Enjoy the weekend!

Tomorrow Friday May 6, 2016 is Muffin’s For Mom’s at 9:00 AM.  Please join us in the classroom at 9:00 AM for a fun time to celebrate all our Mother’s.  The celebration should last about one hour.  Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.

Just a reminder that our field trip to the Detroit Zoo is on Monday April 25, 2016.  Please remember to dress your child in appropriate clothing for the zoo.  Good walking shoes and unfortunately I think rain is in the forecast. ( raincoats, umbrellas, rain boots) We have 8 chaperones for our trip.  Please pack a lunch for your child in a throw away bag.  No personal water bottles or plastic lunch containers please.  If you are attending the trip to the zoo, please be at school by 9:10 AM.  We should be back to school by 2:30PM.  Let’s keep our fingers cross that the rain stays away while we are out exploring.

Today was the first day we took the May NWEA test. Today was the Math test.  We will be taking the Reading NWEA test next week on Friday April 29, 2016.  Please remind your child to listen carefully to the questions and look for the best answer.  Also, please remind them to take their time on the test.  These scores will be passed onto their Kindergarten teacher.

Our Mother’s Day celebration is coming soon “Muffins For MOM” more information to come.

Spring has Sprung in our classroom and so has our behavior.  Please keep reminding your child about being a good Lindbergh Flyer and following and making good proactive choices.

Just a reminder that tomorrow Wednesday March 09, 2016 is Wear your pajamas to school day.  It cost a $1.00.  The proceeds are going to the Leader in Me program at Lindbergh School.  How comfy and cozy would it be to wear your pj’s and slippers to school all day???!!!!

Monday March 7, 2016 is our Spring Picture Day at Lindbergh Elementary!  I believe everyone will get their picture taken and then the proof will be sent home for you to decide if you want to purchase it.

Also, The other day I sent a schedule of Kindergarten Round Up Meetings.  I also wanted to add that you must complete a school of choice request form with Student Services if you want your child to attend a different school other than your home school.  I believe these forms are due in the Student Service office by May 1, 2016.  I also believe you can obtain this form on the Dearbornschools.org website.  Please contact student services or myself for any other information you may need.

Hello,  I need your help.  Yesterday, Tuesday March 1, 2016 I was not at school and we had a substitute teacher.  Unfortunately the teacher did not follow most of my plans and a lot of the work that was completed yesterday was not done right! UGH!!  This is why I really dislike not be able to come to school.  I guess I need to let go a little bit.  I was wondering if you could look around your house or in the students things.  I am missing a little white paper tooth with the number 105 on it.  It is part of my number line and it was made 10 years ago and now it is missing.  I will continue to look around the room and hope and pray that it was not thrown away.  I asked the teacher and she was of no help! 🙁 Very Sad!

Also, please parents in the morning if we have indoor lineup please stay with your child or direct them in what they need to do or where to stand.

Please remember that Thursday February 18, 2016 is the last day to order your “Lindbergh Leader In ME” tshirt.  We are encouraging every student at Lindbergh School to purchase a tshirt so that everyone will be wearing the same shirt on Leader Day in the Spring.  If you need another order form please see.  The shirt sizes are available to see in the office.  The cost of the shirt is $12.00.   Thank you to all who have purchased the shirt.

Also, we will be celebrating our 100th day of school soon.  On this day we will be doing many activities related to the 100th day of school.  More information will come soon.  I hope to celebrate this day on Monday or Tuesday February 22 or 23, 2016.  I will be sending home a letter asking each student to bring a designated item for our 100 things to eat trail mix.  Also, if you would like to volunteer on that day, much appreciated.

Happy November everyone!  I hope everyone enjoyed their day off from school yesterday and the wonderful weather.  Remember on Friday November 6, 2015 is a half day of school with dismissal at 11:45 AM.  Also, I will be sending home reminder slips about the parent/teacher conferences that will happen in the next two weeks.  If you have not signed up for a time please see me so we can schedule a conference.

On Saturday November 14, 2015 is the Lindbergh Holiday Boutique.  Our class is making a gift basket with the theme ARTS and CRAFTS.  Mrs. Dewey and Mrs. Deebajah have been collecting money and craft items for the raffle basket.  Thank you to all that have donated money or items.  If you have not donated toward the basket there is still time.  The basket is to be made by Friday November 6, 2015.  Also, if you have donated items to the basket please let me know how much the items cost so we can calculate the correct money amount for the basket.The Lindbergh Boutique is the biggest fundraiser for our school.  The money raised is given to the teachers to help with getting educational items for the children to use in the classroom.

This week we are learning about the new alphafriend Mimi Mouse and the letter sound M.  We are reviewing the letter sound for S too.  We are continuing learning to read to self and creating more books for our book boxes.  We are getting better and learning to have stamina while we read.  We are also learning about colors and learning a color poem.  We will be playing different color games and making a color book.  Our class is getting better with coloring, writing, and using scissors.  Please continue to practice these skills at home.  In math we are learning about patterns and playing counting games with number recognition.
