The month of January brings lots of assessments for the students. Next week we will start taking the Winter NWEA test for Reading and Math. Also, I will be assessing their counting to 100. The DRA Reading test will be administered. I will be assessing all the skills that were given at the beginning of the year with the DRA word analysis tasks. Also, we will be finishing module 3 in Math by the end onf of the second card marking period and assessing the module.
Today, the Trade 10 project was sent home. Please read the directions for this fun project to do with our Social Studies unit on goods and services. If you have any questions please ask and I will try my best to help. This is the first time that I have done this project too.
ACADEMICS:
ELA: We will be reviewing some letters and sounds and practicing letter formation. Also, our word this week is “it”. I may introduce some other words too. We will be working on final sounds and middle sounds of words. Practicing long Ee words. Isolating sounds and counting syllables.
Writing- We are going to work on a informational writing piece about snowflakes.
Math – Module 3 lessons 22, 23, 24, 25, 26.
Social Studies- Discussing needs and wants and goods and services.
Science- The five Senses.
Leader in ME- Habit 5 seek first to understand then to be understood. Working on updating our Leadership binders.
