Hello everyone! Thank you to all for making our field trip to Three Cedar Farms a huge success! Even though it was a bit chilly, I still believe we all had a fun time.
This week we have a LATE START day on Wednesday October 16, 2019. School will begin an hour later at 9:35 but dismiss at the normal time.
Also, this week is the Lindbergh Haunted School. It begins at 6:30 PM on Friday October 18, 2019. Presale tickets will be sold at the doors of school this week. A fun night for the whole family to attend. More information has been sent home and on the Lindbergh PTA page.
Our Halloween Party will be on Thursday October 31, 2019 at 9:00 to 10:00 in the morning. The Kindergarten children will come dressed in their costumes and parade around school in the hallways. After the parade we will have our party. I have met with our homeroom Mothers this past week and have decided on some fun activities for our party. I will be sending home a note this week with more information. Also, after the party we will be taking off our costumes and if possible wearing orange or black!
With the colder weather arriving this week, please dress your child according to the weather. Also, have them practice dressing themselves and zipping their coats at home.
This week in Math we will be doing lessons 24, 25, 26, 27. We are practicing writing our numbers in these lessons. It would be helpful to have your child practice writing their numbers at home too.
In ELA we are working on letters and sounds for H and F and also learning the word “go”. We will be practicing counting syllables and using and creating rhyming words. Please practice their book bag each day with reading the books and sight words. Practicing reading with our reading finger. Also, please bring their book bag to school each day. We are also still building stamina with our book boxes and working in our Work on Writing notebooks. We have been having fun with words too!
In writing we will begin writing opinion stories. And using our Halloween words.
In Science we are still learning about pushes and pulls and using our Mystery Science lessons.
In Social Studies, we are still working on our All About ME books and discussing friendships.
In Leader in Me we are working on Habit 2 Begin With the End in Mind. Doing our Big rocks first before our little rocks. We are working on our leadership binders and creating goals and recording our successes. Please remind your child the importance of staying on green and thinking about the reward party at the end of the month and of course the PRIZE BOX!
Have a nice week!!! I can’t believe it is the middle of October already!!!
