Hello Everyone! Well, we are in the last week of summer. So sad, but at least we will have summer weather all week.
This Friday September 20, 2019 we have a HALF DAY OF SCHOOL! Dismissal will be at 11:45 AM. If you plan on making different pickup arrangements for your child, please let me know so we aware of the changes.
Thank you to all who attended Open House. It was nice to visit and meet all of you. You are welcome to visit our classroom at anytime.
Our homeroom parents for our room are: Sami Abdou’s Mother, Amina and Zeina Dgheish’s Mother, Jacob Kazan’s Mother, Milan Harb’s Mother and Aiden Ball’s Mother. Thank you to all for volunteering and helping our Kindergarten class.
Thank you to all for providing extra snack. For now, we are all set. I will let you all know when we start to run a little low.
This week we will continue doing our Math and Reading NWEA testing. I am doing this testing in small groups.
This week we are learning the letters and sounds for N and T. We are also practicing building stamina ( how long we can read without interruptions) with our book boxes and practicing reading to ourselves. Practicing three good ways to read a book. Our sight words for this week are like and to. I will be sending home word card bags soon for you to practice at home. These bags will stay with their homework folder and come to school each day. We are working on rhyming words. Also, recalling the beginning, middle, and end of a story.
In Math we are practicing our counting, and working on lessons 9, 10, 11, and 12. You may do the corresponding lessons in their Succeed math book.
In writing we will be practicing on drawing people and putting them in an indoor and outdoor setting.
In Science, we will be discussing what it is to be a Scientist. Also, discussing pushes and pulls- forces.
In Social Studies we will be working on social skills and finding friends activities.
Leader in ME- we are working on Habit One – Being Proactive with our choices and also putting our Leadership binders together.
Have a nice week and enjoy the weather while it lasts!!!
