Add Some Fun to Your Daily Learning Routine

Every day at 3pm the Cincinnati Zoo will be streaming through their facebook live page. They will focus on an animal of the day and provide additional resources at the end. This is a great way to integrate science into the day and help build a routine.

We invite parents and students to join a FREE Online Homeschool and “Suddenly-at-Home” School Conference. Since students are home, we want to fill that time with nourishment and growth, so when students burst forth into the world again, they are full of confidence and resources.

6th Grade Math Check-In

Good Morning Vikings,

This is your mid-week check in. Hope you are all doing well!

As we look at the iReady reports, we are noticing that some of you have not started working on your assignments. We would like to know if there is any particular reason? If so, please respond to this message so that we can help guide you. Otherwise, this message is meant to give you a little motivation today : ) We will also be sending out the “Teacher Assigned” iReady lesson every Wednesday, please look for that today. Vikings, that is a total of 4 assignments per week (all due by Friday).

6th Grade Math Expectation:

-3 iReady “My Path” lessons per week (due by Friday)
-1 “Teacher Assigned” iReady lesson sent out on Wednesday (due by Friday)
-Communicate with a math teacher when you are struggling (we can send you a helpful worksheet or Khan Academy videos to go with the lesson)

We will start contacting your home tomorrow if we see that you still have not made any progress. Communication is key, so please don’t wait to ask for help.

6th Grade Math Update

Dear Viking Families and Students,

Here you will find important links necessary for learning from home. Vikings, we are including class codes for google classroom log in (although you are all experts logging in ; ) This will be our primary choice for communicating assignments, information, feedback, etc.

Parents/Guardians, if you do not already have access to google classroom, please accept the invitation sent Sunday evening. This will give you the ability to see what is being assigned to your student. Please do not hesitate to email us, we are happy to help you with getting connected to your childs’ account.

Also, if you haven’t already, please subscribe to our 6th grade math blog to receive class updates (to the right —->).

Google Classroom: Every Monday we will post the schedule for the week which will include any resources you need to complete your assignments. We will also check in with you throughout the week to see if you need any help or have any questions.

iReady: We will use iReady to complete “My Path” lessons and teacher assigned lessons. The district has recommended that food services add another site to our emergency feeding program.  Smith is the school that has been selected to start on Monday, March 23.

Dearborn Schools Offering Free Breakfast and Lunch

The latest Press Release is attached.
Starting tomorrow, Dearborn Public Schools will offer free pickup breakfast and lunch to all of our students at any of six school locations.  The grab-and-go meals will be available from 10 a.m. to noon at Fordson, Dearborn, and Edsel Ford high schools, McCollough/Unis, Salina Intermediate and Woodworth.Any child age 18 or younger is invited to receive a meal.

8th ELA Update

Hello Friends,

I hope you are all doing well and staying safe. For this week, we will be wrapping up our Anne Frank Unit. You will type a CERERC and complete the Act 2 Assessment. Directions for these tasks are on Google Classroom.

CERERC (DUE 3/20): You will complete the Anne Frank Act Characterization CERERC. The directions for this assignment are already on Google Classroom.

Anne Frank Act 2 Assessment (DUE 3/20): You will complete the Anne Frank Act 2 Assessment using a Google Form, which is posted on Google Classroom. Do the best you can, and we are trusting you to take this assessment honestly. If you do not do well, we can discuss corrections options moving forward.

Please reach out to your friends and let them know what the expectations are for the coming days. We will also be calling as many students as we can each week to check in and provide support where it is needed.
