Week in Review

We had a busy week this week!
we did lots of easter-related activities and went swimming!

-we practiced sorting colors and using bar graphs by sorting and graphing jelly beans.

-we got to have outdoor recess twice thanks to the beautiful weather this week!

-we practiced using our fine motor skills,e like using tweezers/pinchers and crossing the mid-line of the body, by filling up easter eggs with special treats for our easter egg hunt. our occupational therapist, mrs. britt, came down to help us.

-we had an easter egg hunt on the playground! it was so much fun finding eggs.

-the easter bunny visited our classroom! he left us stuffed animals and cupcakes.

-we made ourselves into easter bunnies! we did a craft with our pictures on a bunny template and glued cotton balls on.
-we went swimming at hype and had an absolute blast!

Week in Review

we had a somewhat quiet (as quiet as a k-1 classroom with 11 very energetic children can be😉) because a lot of our friends were at home sick.
if your child is sick, it is very important to keep them home from school until they have been symptom free for 24 hours.
when your child is sick, they are at risk for spreading their germs to other children in the classroom.
the school nurse wrote a document that explains when a child should stay home from school and when it is okay to return.

TUESDAY IS OUR SWIMMING FIELD TRIP TO HYPE ATHLETIC CENTER IN WAYNE! we are so excited!

PLEASE SEND THE FOLLOWING ITEMS TO SCHOOL WITH YOUR CHILD:

-BATHING SUIT

-towel

-sack lunch

students will not receive a school lunch this day!

WE WENT TO THE LOBBY TO LISTEN TO A STORY READ BY CITY COUNCILMAN MIKE SAREINI. THE GENERAL EDUCATION FIRST GRADE CLASSES WERE ALSO THERE WITH US. IT WAS A GREAT STORY! WE HAD FUN.

JANA AND AMIR WERE SO BRAVE… THEY PUT  A SNAKE AROUND THEIR NECK AND PET IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MS. BOWDELL WAS ALMOST IN TEARS THAT SHE WAS IN THE SAME ROOM AS A SNAKE OUT OF IT’S CAGE!

CLASSROOM PIZZA PARTY:

THE GIRLS WANTED THEIR NAILS TO BE JUST LIKE MS. BOWDELL’S. THANK YOU, MS. ANGIE!

JOUMANA WANTED HAIR LIKE MS. BOWDELL, TOO!

MRS. ALCODRAY CALLED MS. BOWDELL AND TOLD HER THAT THERE WAS A LEPRECHAUN LOOSE IN THE SCHOOL! SHE ASKED IF OUR CLASS WOULD HELP FIND HIM. WE AGREED! HE LEFT US CLUES TO HELP US TRY TO FIND HIM. WE NEVER CAUGHT HIM, BUT HE DID VISIT OUR CLASSROOM WHILE WE WERE SEARCHING FOR HIM. HE LEFT US CUPCAKES AND GOLD COINS!

JANA IS ALL READY FOR ST. PATRICK’S DAY… AND MS. BOWDELL IS ALL READY FOR THE MSU GAME TONIGHT.

WEEKLY UPDATE

wow!
what a fun week!!!
we had a blast at school this week thanks to the beautiful weather!
funny how we had 3 days of outdoor recess and then a snow day!

this week
we…

-reviewed our school and classroom rules and procedures after a week off of school.
-celebrated taha’s 6th birthday!


-practiced our language and preposition skills by learning how to play hide and seek.
we read the story, ‘hide and hug olaf‘.
the story comes with a stuffed olaf to play hide and seek with.
we played with him inside and then went outside to play hide and seek with each other! it was somuchfun. !!!

MY FAVORITE PICTURE~ I GUESS I AM A GOOD HIDER. ABDUL COULDN’T FIND ME! 😉

-Did a research project on penguins.

-enjoyed pizza thanks to our speech-language therapist, mrs. gallery. her and her intern, Ms. Melanie, gave us a pizza and had us practice our language skills by requesting pizza and using our manners.
taha was a great delivery boy!

-learned about our new month, march.
we reviewed our new march vocabulary words and chose which words we ‘see’ for our march writing projects
(we will complete those next week).

-kicked off ‘March is reading month’.



-celebrated amir’s 7th birthday!

-were able to enjoy the absolutely beautiful weather during outdoor recess!!!
the kids were over the moon being able to play outside – and so was miss bowdell!

  

MS. CULLIP’S CLASS CALLED US ON WEDNESDAY AND ASKED US IF WE WOULD LIKE TO GO OUT FOR RECESS WITH THEM. OF COURSE WE SAID YES!
