-We graphed our birthday months.
We used our class birthday book as a visual to help us graph.
We discussed which months had more and/or less, and which months had zero birthdays.
The children really enjoyed this!

the kids absolutely love to read it! πΒ
Then we celebrated MohammedAli’s birthday with pizza and cupcakes!
-We read the storyΒ The Mitten by Jan Brett. We discussed how animals went in and out of the mitten.
The students made predictions on whether or not they think the animals would fit in the mitten.
After we read the story, we measured how many mittens tall the students are! They really enjoyed being measured by mittens.
Our results were very interesting… we have some very tall kindergarten and first graders in our classroom! π
We graphed our results and discussed who is taller, shorter, and the same height.
In the story, the main character wants a “snow white” mitten. His grandmother tells him that she doesn’t think that a snow white mitten is a good idea because it will blend in with the snow and he will lose it. The boy insisted that his mitten be snow white and so that is what he got!
The students got to decorate their very own mitten JUST the way that THEY wanted to!
-We learned a lot about winter this week and the things that we can see and do in winter.
We painted mittens and gloves for an adorable project. The children really enjoyed painting!
We haven’t finished it yet, but I can’t wait to share pictures!
Once the project is completed they will go up in the hallway but I will share pictures on the blog.
We did a winter writing project.
The students picked their favorite winter activity.
I think we will have to have some hot chocolate in our classroom soon! π
