Language Arts 3:

Currently, we are analyzing the funeral speeches from Julius Caesar.  On Wednesday, we visited the counselors in the media center for Career Cruising.  Ask your child what his or her results were.

Today we finished talking to the text, paraphrasing, and analyzing persuasion from Cassius’ speech from Julius Caesar.  Tomorrow the students will be taking an online SRI test to assess their reading lexile scores.

It’s been a great and busy first full week!

Language Arts:  We have been discussing what makes a hero and reading various articles about people who helped others on 9/11.  We took preassessments in writing and grammar already.  Monday we will take a sample reading SAT pretest along with the other 10th grade Language Arts classes.

Spanish 1:  We have been speaking a lot with basic conversations that include asking one’s name and how someone is.  We tested on the letters of the alphabet today.  Study the vocabulary list over the weekend or go to quizlet and look up Expresate 1 vocab 1.1.

Spanish 3/4:  We have been talking this week about things we did when we were young.  We created a miniproject on that topic.  Study the vocabulary list or look it up on quizlet. (Expresate 2 vocab 6.1)
