Students are encouraged to wear red tomorrow in honor of Heart Health. Also, Wednesday 2/7 is a Late Start.
In science news:
Last week students continued to discuss what they discovered or had questions regarding thermal energy transfer using sources provided to them and classroom discussions. They were also introduced to a new task known as “Evidence-Reasoning-Claim” where they would use to answer their guiding question.
Last weeks guiding question was: How can what you cannot see explain what you can see?
This week’s guiding question is: How can we control heat transfer to match our needs?
The above guiding question will help them with the prototype project storyline:
- You are an architect who will design the prototype of a home that minimizes energy loss. Throughout the unit, teams will find out how energy moves through objects. Each team will design a home that accounts for a cold climate.
This week students will be given time in class to begin with their home design project and explain how the materials they are suggesting is supported by they have been learning and investigating.
Have a great week everyone!
