We just completed unit 2 of an ecosystem; Energy Pyramid. Students completed their home projects and are presenting them every day this week. B-Day students should have turned in their home project and some presented on Friday. A-Day students’ projects are due on Monday 10/31. We will make time everyday this week for presentations. I am very proud of their hard work and effort. Deadline for turning in Energy Pyramid project is Friday November 4, 2016 with some credit deduction.
I have graded students’ test and they will be passed out this week for parent signature. Students that completed the online test, need a signature from their parent in their science journal.
This week we will begin to explore how biodiversity contributes to the sustainability of an ecosystem. Students will take part in class discussions, Input and Output lab stations, and homework s which will be posted on Google Classroom.
Please find a copy of my weekly lesson plan below to find out what how we will be learning about biodiversity and its importance to our ecosystem.
**Students will be using their ecosystem model they created from unit one to enhance the model by adding additional organisms labeled as primary, secondary or tertiary consumers, producers, predators and a display of a food web that relates to THEIR ecosystem model. (NGSS strategy)****
