On the eve of Daylight savings time I hope that you had a relaxing and restful weekend!

  • Quick reminders for this week at Smith are:

Wednesday 3/13  is a Late Start:  Bell rings at 8:50 instead of 7:50  and Friday 3/15 students will follow “Flex Friday”  schedule.

In Science class this week…..

  • Students will have a chance to insulate their prototype, collect data, and revise their “Energy Efficient Home”
  • We will continue investigating “Thermal Energy Transfer” through the following in-class lab investigations:
    • Temperatures Differences Lab
    • Chill-Out Water System
    • Reading and reflecting from Koala Article
    • CER graphic Organizer
  • Energy Efficient Home projects are due on 3/18 for A-Day students and 3/19 for B-Day students. 
  • Thermal Energy Transfer Quiz on Monday for B-Day students and was completed on Friday 3/8 for A-Day students.
  • I have posted a series of resourceful links on Google Classroom for students to research and enhance their prototype model in order for them to have a successful Energy Efficient Home model.
  • My lecture powerpoint is also posted on Google Classroom to review, create study flashcards, and be prepared for the test following the project! (Planned for next week)
