NWEA testing started last week; Language Arts is complete and Math NWEA is scheduled for this week . I wish you all the best of luck. Science NWEA is scheduled for the first week of June.

A few School announcements

VIKING SKATE PARTY RETURNS at the Lincoln Park Skating Center on Tuesday May 22nd , 6-8 P.M. The cost is $8 which includes skates and admission (Rollerblades or Inline Rentals = $2 additional). I hope to see you there! We had a great time earlier this year at the Skate Party.
As the weather gets warmer, our wardrobe will change as well. We have reviewed the Student Dress Code policy during advisory. Please review them with your child as they are also posted on the Smith Blog.
Library books are due this Month for the school year.
Field Trip forms and fees are due on June 1, 2018. This is a reward for good and positive behavior throughout the school year. Students in the past had a blast at the Adventure Park and I know you will too. If you haven’t submitted your form and money to your Math teacher, please do so this week. Memorial Break begins on Friday 25 to Monday May 28, 2018. Schools reopen on Tuesday 5/29.

Science: (Water Cycle & Weather)

Last week we completed input/output lab stations to learn how water continuously cycles on Earth. We also started a project on the Water Cycle which is due this week after students present their project.
This week, I will clarify any misunderstandings or confusions students had with our Lecture discussion.
An open-book lab qu iz is scheduled for this week where students could use their lab notes as an aid during the quiz.
New topic for this week will help students identify how global patterns of atmospheric movement influence local weather using weather maps that show high and low pressures and fronts.
