Scholastic Book Fair is taking place in our school library this week!  Please make sure you stop by the library and take a peek ! Also……….

  • Science NWEA is almost complete.  Most of the students completed the assessment and copied their score onto their science journal, while others didn’t finish and some were absent last week.  It will be finalized this week and students will find out what 3 classes showed the most growth from the Fall to Spring of this year.  I am proud of all that did their best and continue to show growth.
  • Spirit week continues this week and this Friday students are encouraged to wear any hat of their choice and pay $1 for participating.  These funds will help 6th graders’ budget for the field trip scheduled to take place on May 19.
  • M-Step testing will begin next week for our 6th grade team.  However, 6th grade students will not be tested in Science this year, they will be assessed next year.
  • Lastly, 5th graders(future 6th graders) will be visiting our school on Thursday, May4 for middle school orientation.

In science this week: 

  • We will complete Science NWEA testing
  •  Finalize our discussion about Global Warming and how to take care of our planet Earth.
  • Review interior layers of the Earth and focus on Plate Tectonic Boundaries.
  • Tectonic Boundaries Graham Cracker Lab (Students who donate any 3 supplies will receive 10% extra credit to their lab and/or classwork for the week).  Thank you in advance for helping out.
    • Graham crackers
    • Shaving cream
    • Cool whip/frosting
    • Paper Plates (large plates)
    • Plastic knives/spoons
    • Wax paper
    • Styrofoam/plastic Cups
