4 year old Preschool Registration Is Now Open

ATTENTION All FAMILIES

WITH A FOUR-YEAR-OLD CHILD

Dearborn Schools offers a Free Preschool Program

GSRP is a free program for all eligible families and is designed to give a high quality preschool experience prior to Kindergarten.

Eligibility is primarily based on family income (federal poverty level), life experiences and child’s age. If your child’s birth date is between December 2, 2015 to December 1, 2016, your child may qualify for this program.

If you would like to be sent information about registration for the 2020-2021 school year please fill in the GSRP Interest Form 2020-2021 and someone will contact you as we start the registration process.

GSRP Enrollment 2020-2021

Due to all the information going out here is a “cheat sheet” on who qualifies for the Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) and a couple of requests for you to help our GSRP team get out the word about registration for GSRP.

Who qualifies for GSRP:

Any child with a birth date between December 2, 2015 to December 1, 2016.
Eligibility is primarily based on family income (federal poverty level), life experiences and child’s age. (if in doubt they should apply)

Application Process for 2020-2021

Applications for 325 students (who were on Census) were sent applications this week (May 27, 2020)
GSRP Interest Form 2020-2021 to fill out information and also upload documents (uploads are Optional).
- This form will allow us to send an application if one was not sent prior and also keep families updated on the registration process.
HOPEFULLY, we will be able to have an Early Summer Registration and Fall Registration for families. Dates To Be Determined

Chromebook Troubleshooting

Please remember if you have picked up a school Chromebook it will not be usable for at least 24-48 hours due to the need for reprogramming.

If you have checked out a school Chromebook and are having issues connecting try the steps listed below.
1. Turn off the Chromebook (holding the power button is okay)

2. Turn the Chromebook back on.

3. Connect to your home WiFi.

4. You should see a screen that says “Sign in to your Chromebook”. Leave the Chromebook on this screen for 5-10 minutes.

5. Restart the Chromebook again.

Salina Elementary School

March 12, 2020

Dear Salina Families,

With the news of the spread of COVID-19, I want to ease your worries by sharing with you the extra steps we are doing to help keep your children safe.

Please know our district leadership team has been meeting for weeks to put plans in place for the well-being of the entire community.

Extra hand sanitizers are available for everyone with the positioning of them at all entrances
Our custodians are sanitizing all hard surfaces daily
Chrome books are sanitized after every use.
We have stopped salad bar service in the lunchroom and that food will be prepackaged and served to our students.

Remember, the most important prevention is hand-washing and making sure everyone stays home if they are ill. Please also know should you have any questions or concerns, call our office. We are here to answer any questions you may have.

Rest assured, we will continue to update you with any new developments as they arise. We are in this together and together, we will come through this strong.
