Schools are closed 3/13 – 4/12
Dear Woodworth Parent(s)/Guardian(s):
As you are aware our schools are shut down until April 13th. I will be communicating with you and students daily via I-blog . I have given students, who reported to school on March 13th, a packet to do at home every day (Monday through Friday). Also, I provided them with a History -Alive textbook OR leveled book stories to read and summarize at home. Assignments for each day will be posted on I- Blog.
Please make sure to check your child’s assignments every day early in morning at 8: 00 a.m . I will post new assignments at 4:00 pm for the next day.
Your child’s assignments will include IXL practice/ I -Ready Math practice/ Reading and summarizing fiction/ Non-fiction texts. Write summaries on a small notebook. It will be graded when we return back. Make sure to write the assignments’ date.

Pre-algebra : Unit of Study: Lesson 16: Systems Word problems
Students will learn how to solve word problems of system of linear equations using three methods (Group work/ Independent skill).

ELA: Unit of Study: Debate article (Amazon indoor delivery)
Students will close read a debate article and apply Close & Critical Reading -4 squares. Students are reviewing for PSAT writing and reading. Check their practice PSAT book and mini-lessons.
U.S. History / Unit of Study: The Westward Expansion-continue
Students will read and analyze informational texts related to reasons why Americans moved to the West and how they acquired lands in western territories. They will complete a flip book and orally present it. They will be graded using a rubric. They will learn about Florida aquisition/ Texas annexation/ Mexican War.
Student will learn new academic vocabulary. They will complete thinking maps and orally present it as a group.
Study Skills : Lesson Focus: Pythagorean theorem
Students will practice skill in groups. Students will practice Ready Online Math skills.
Physical Science : Unit of Study: Sound Waves
They will read informational articles, learn new academic vocabulary, and write facts about sounds . They will create foldables.
