Pre-algebra

Unit of Study: Fractions

Students will learn how to solve equations by adding/ subtracting/ multiplying / dividing fractions ( group work/ Independent skill).

Assessment:   10/11

ELA

Unit of Study: Narrative text ” Tell -Tale Heart”/ Genre: Thriller

Mini lessons: Character traits

Students will analyze a narrative text ” Tell- Tale Heart” and analyze character traits ( Body Biography) . They will cite textual evidence to support claim.

Students will orally present their Body Biography. It will be graded as a summative assessment

U.S. History

Unit of Study:  The thirteen Colonies

Students will read and analyze informational texts about 13 colonies and reasons they disliked British rule..

They will learn significant facts about the reasons to protest.  Student will learn new academic vocabulary.

Assessment: 10/12

Study Skills

This week’s focus will be on solving one/ two/ multistep equations (Group Work/ Independent skills)

Physical Science

Unit of Study: Force & Motion

They will read and analyze informational texts about Balanced/ unbalanced forces & Newton’s Laws of Motion and create foldable/ thinking maps.

They will learn new academic vocabulary.
