Pre-algebra

Unit of Study: Lesson 2:   Square roots/ cube Roots

Students will learn how to solve equations using square and cube roots

( Group work/ Independent skill).

Unit of Study: Narrative text features /Genre: Fiction

Students will learn about narrative text structure and complete an outline(Teacher will model how to write a well-developed narrative essay)

Assessment: 9/24   Reading Comprehension and Plot Test

U.S. History

Unit of Study:  English Colonies

Students will read and analyze an  informational text and learn significant facts about English Colonies.  Student will learn new academic vocabulary.

They will complete Frayer model and Talk-to-Text.

They will compare and contrast Jamestown & Plymouth colonies by completing a Venn diagram

Assessment: Compare & Contrast (Jamestown/ Plymouth permanent colonies)

Physical Science

Unit of Study: The Scientific Method – summative project

They will conduct their own controlled experiment following the scientific method.

Assessment: Students will orally present their science project (Design an Experiment) (Extended Learning) on 9/26
