Unit of Study: The Number System
Students will learn how to differentiate between rational/ irrational numbers ( group work/ Independent skill).
They will solve equations with scientific notations.
Review Exponent rules.

ELA
Unit of Study: Narrative text ” Tell -Tale Heart”/ Genre: Thriller
Mini lessons: Figurative Language- continue
Students will analyze character traits of the protagonist in ” The Tell- Tale Heart” and complete a Body Biography.
They will apply C.E.R. answering a writing prompt: Is the protagonist insane? They will cite textual evidence to support claim.
Assessment: 10/23 (Reading Comprehension/ Plot Elements)
U.S. History
Unit of Study: The War for Independence
Students will read and analyze informational texts about the colonists war for independence.
They will learn significant facts about major battles . Student will learn new academic vocabulary.
Study Skills
This week’s focus will be reading comprehension.
Informational book: Life in a Colonial Time
Students will read, discuss facts (jigsaw Activity) and complete Cornell’s Notes / Vocabulary log .
Physical Science
Unit of Study: Force & Motion_ continue
They will read and analyze informational texts about Work and types of Machine. Formative assessments: foldable/ thinking maps.
They will learn new academic vocabulary.
