On Thursday, much of Oakman will be on the boat trip. Kindergarten and first grade will not be attending, instead we will be doing some fun things at school. If your child has a board game, card game or puzzle that they would like to bring on Thursday, we will be have a game time during the day.
Also, if your child has an outdoor toy such as a ball or jump rope, they may bring that as well.
We will have our own fun at Oakman on Thursday!
I hope I wrote that correctly…just want to wish all of those observing, a happy and peaceful Ramadan.
Regarding fasting, I just wanted to let parents know that I had about 10 children in my class trying to “fast” today. I know most families don’t begin that practice until children are a bit older. Please, if your child is fasting, let me know, I know some children just want to be like their older siblings, and I don’t want anyone to get sick from not eating or drinking all day.
If your child tells me that they are fasting, I will honor that request, but please…if you’re allowing your child to eat and drink during the day, please let them know before they come to school. I think most of my “fasting first graders” changed their mind by lunch time!

Math: practice your math skills using your math pretest as a guide…the test is next week!
Please have your child wear gym shoes and socks tomorrow. Students may want to wear a hat and sunscreen since we will be outside for about 3 hours in the morning. Children should bring a bottle of water with their name on it as well.
Reading; Reading bags and books were collected today, so please read library books or use Myon each night.
Math: Please practice in your math bags.

his year Field Day will be on Friday, June 3rd at Oakman School.
We will serve a pizza lunch and the PTA will sell cheese and nachos for an extra fee.
9:00-11:15pm for kindergarten through 2nd
1:00-3:30pm for 3rd through 5th
We need parents to help with the children move from station to station. You can stay with your child’s class to help the teacher move along.
