Little Caesars Pizza kit orders are due January 30th.

What We Did This Week

Our AlphaFriend was “Dudley Duck”, letter Dd

Our new “High-frequency” words were “I” and “like”

We are working on the “Magic C” family in handwriting (letters that can be made from making a “C” first) C, O,Q

In our journals we continue to “stretch” and record our alphabet sounds to write good stories.

The students will be bringing home “reading bags” soon.  These will include beginning readers (if they are ready for those) or alphabet work in addition to their “ring of words” to practice at home.  Reading bags should be returned to school every day.

In math we continue to study the “tricky teens” and counting by 5’s and 10’s

Usernames and passwords for Study Island and Everyday Math Games were sent home for “home enrichment.”  Please let me know if there are any log in problems.

Have a good weekend!

Study Island and Everyday Math Games

I am sending home today usernames and passwords for two resources we have here at Lindbergh.

Study Island contains Math and English Language Arts questions centered around Kindergarten Common Core Standards.

The Everyday Math website contains math games  (again all centered on Common Core) .

These websites are to be used for enrichment.  They are not homework assignments rather practice for what is to come next year in Kindergarten.

Feel free to explore and let me know what you think!

Our AlphaFriend this week was “Keely Kangaroo”, letter Kk

We rotated through Daily 5 and stamped lower case letters at Word Work

We got started in our new journals and are very focused on “stretching” our sounds using our alphabet chart

We have begun posting words on our “Word Wall” – we will begin with the words “I” and” like” and continue to study them next week (with it being a short week)

We have been working on empathy in our Social Skills group with Mr. Iversile.  We are paying attention to our friends faces and feelings as we work and play together.

We will begin a unit on “Sink and Float” in Science

In math we are focused on the “tricky teens” and identifying and writing them.  We continue to count by 10’s, 5’s and 1’s
