PBIS Reward Party

Our “beach party” reward party is tomorrow afternoon.  Students may wear “beach attire” (sunglasses, summer shirts, beach hats) to school.  We will play beach volleyball with the other Kindergarten students!

February reading logs can be turned in next Tuesday for a pizza coupon.

PBIS (positive behavior) Reward Party

There is a note in the red folder regarding our reward BEACH party.  Feel free to dress your student in “beach” or Hawaiian shirts and send in a beach towel and sunglasses.  We will be playing beach volleyball and listening to music!

March is Reading Month

We will be doing some author studies and crafts to celebrate reading month.  We will start with Dr. Seuss next week and celebrate his birthday Thursday.

March Reading Logs will also be sent home Tuesday.

What We Did This Week

We continue to review our Alpha Friend sounds “stretching” sounds when we write in our journals

We began our study of Clay’s sight words, our words this week were: I, like

We worked with the word “like” in our poem books

In math we measured our heights and next week we will use “feet” to measure distances

There will be no Daily 5 on Wednesday.  We have an assembly to attend.

Soc Hop

The Lindbergh Family Soc Hop is tonight from 6:30-8:30.

What We Did This Week

Our final Alpha Friends were Iggy Iguana and Umbrey Umbrella, letters I and U

We are focusing hard on beginning sounds and will begin sight words next week.

We worked in our poem books.

We rotated through Daily 5

We wrote in student journals

We are working on “Magic C” letters in Handwriting

In math we worked on ordering numbers and matching quantities to the number names.  We still continue to count by 10’s and 5’s.  We write our numbers daily 1-20.

MONDAY WILL BE OUR 100th DAY OF SCHOOL!

We will celebrate this with some fun activities.

First – thank you for all of the donations and volunteers that helped make our Valentine’s Day party a big success!

The student’s will be bring home a final craft for Valentine’s Day today.

Students may hand out Valentine Treats/Cards at our Valentine Party next Thursday morning.  Please only have your child write their name on the “from” line.  You do not need to address the cards.  This makes handing out cards easier.  We have 12 students in class.
