PTA Reflections Contest

Reflections 2013-14: Believe, Dream, Inspire. . .

And create!  The National PTA Reflections program aims to foster creativity and interest in the arts at home and in our schools. Every year, students from Lindbergh submit art in various media for judging.    School finalists are submitted to the City of Dearborn and State of Michigan competitions.  Finalists from the State are submitted into the national competition where Awards of Excellence and Merit are presented.

Although Reflections entries are judged, the goal is to allow students to express themselves creatively and receive positive recognition for their work.  There is a special recognition ceremony for the City of Dearborn entries.

Entrants may submit interpretations of the 2013-14 theme, Believe, Dream, Inspire. . ., in the following categories:

Dance Choreography – Up to three dancers can perform the choreography depicting Believe, Dream, Inspire. . . (choreographer must be one of the dancers and the routine must be an original) and it should be recorded on a DVD, flash drive or CD.  Make a copy for yourself because CDs and DVDs aren’t returned.

Film Production – Must be an original work of fiction or nonfiction relating to Believe, Dream, Inspire. . . and must not exceed 5 minutes.  It can be with or without sound.  The student must be the director, screenwriter, and cameraperson (a tripod can be used so that producer may appear in the film himself or herself).  Examples include an animation, narrative, documentary, experimental, or media presentation (PowerPoint presentations are not accepted).  Submissions should be in formats including .MPG / .PEG, .MOV / .QT, .WMV, CD, or DVD.  If the film is not in English, subtitles are required.  Make a copy for yourself because originals aren’t returned.
