Winter Break

February 16th-20th, School resumes on February 23rd

What We Did This Week

Our AlphaFriend was “Willy Worm”, letter Ww

Our High-Frequency word was, “we”

In math we continue to study the “tricky teens”, writing 1-20, counting by 10’s and 5’s and number stories.

In Science we continue to study sink and float.

We talked about “frustration” with Mr. Iversile in our Social Skills lesson.

We rotated through Daily 5 and wrote in our journals with the word, “we.”

We enjoyed our beach ball volleyball games for positive behavior.

Next week the Young Fives will be taking the 2nd round of the NWEA test.  Once I have those results I will be sending home, report cards, data binders and test results so you can have time to study your child’s progress over winter break.

Please see the BLOG post about donations for our Valentine’s Day Party.  THANKS!

Positive Behavior Reward Party! Book Fair!

The entire class earned the reward party for the month of January.  Our reward party will be TOMORROW (Feb. 5th) and it is a “Beach Volleyball” party (we will be playing with beach balls).  If your student would like to wear sunglasses or a “beach shirt” they may.

We also visited the Book Fair today and browsed.  Students wrote titles of books that they were interested in on their “wish list.”  You may send payment in Thursday or Friday for purchase.

Study Island and Everyday Math Games

I am sending home today usernames and passwords for two resources we have here at Lindbergh.

Study Island contains Math and English Language Arts questions centered around Kindergarten Common Core Standards.

The Everyday Math website contains math games  (again all centered on Common Core) .

These websites are to be used for enrichment.  They are not homework assignments rather practice for what is to come next year in Kindergarten.

Feel free to explore and let me know what you think!
