News and Information

Donuts for Dad, Friday June 5th at 9:00 a.m. – We look forward to celebrating Father’s Day with everyone!

Lindbergh Fun Fair, Friday June 5th 6:00-8:00

Field Day (School Wide End of the Year Celebration) will be Tuesday, June 9th during the morning.

Last Day of School, Wednesday June 10th, this will be a half-day of school.  Dismissal will be at 11:45 a.m.

What We Did This Week

I have begun using classroom time to individually assess students for end of the year scores and data – this information will be passed along to next year’s teacher.

We’ve completed the last NWEA testing session.  Students brought home their headphones this week – we will no longer need them in the computer lab.

I have collected book bags and reading books were due back to the book room this week.

Library Books were also due this week.  Overdue notices were sent home for those students still missing books.

Finding leveled books similar to the ones we use at school can be hard to find.  I wanted to share the following website with you:  https://www.raz-kids.com

This purchased program/app holds a library full of leveled texts including questions to answer at the end of each story.  Many of the K-5 students here at Lindbergh use it and it may be a good resource for summer reading.

Donuts for Dad

Just a reminder that “Donuts for Dad” will be held Friday, June 5th at 9:00 a.m.

We hope that somebody (an uncle, grandfather, mom) can attend for each student if dad is unavailable.  The program will be similar to Muffins for Mom.

Thank you for the donations that have been turned in so far.

Clean Up Parade

Our clean up parade has been scheduled for Thursday, May 21st! So get ready to show off your clean up, fix up, and paint up self. For this day of spirit week students are asked to wear their Lindbergh Pride. So please have your child wear their Lindbergh shirts or wear red that day. Students are allowed to bring in fun posters that are about cleaning up Dearborn too! They can dress as a person who cleans with their Lindbergh Pride colors too! In the past students have brought posters, brooms, paint brushes, and more to show how to clean up. Students have dressed as gardeners, painters, carpenters, and more. No tools that have sharp edges (screw drivers, hammers, etc…) please. Have fun and be creative.

Week of May 18th

This week is spirit week and every day has a theme:

Monday – Sport Day – wear your favorite team apperal
Tuesday – Crazy Hat Day
Wednesday – Backwards Day
Thursday – Lindbergh Pride Day – wear Lindbergh Shirts or Lindbergh red
Spirit week will conclude Thursday afternoon with the students marching in the Clean Up Parade.  More details to come soon.
Tomorrow (Monday) is also planting day.  We will be planting out in front of the school.  If your child has a set of gardening gloves they are more than welcome to bring them to school.
We will also visit the end of the year Scholastic Book Fair to preview books tomorrow.  A wish list will come home Monday after school.

Thank you for such a special teacher appreciation week.  I am grateful for the gifts and efforts made by all.

What We Did This Week

Our new high frequency word was “and”

We wrote in our journals using the word “and”

We rotated through Daily 5 but those students who usually take home a reading bag did not get a new book this week.  We used the small group time to work on our Mother’s Day projects and finish our Publishing Center books.

In Science we will begin to talk about living things and parts of a plant

In math we continue to practice telling time to the hour andwe have learned a new addition game

Mr. Iversile worked with us on steps to take if somebody is bothering us – not tattling

In handwriting we worked on capital R (slanted line)

Reminders for the Week

Popcorn Friday is tomorrow.

Please be sure to RSVP for Muffins for MOM, the program will take place next Friday morning.

If you have any questions about the “GUMMY WORM” project please let me know.  Presentation boards are due next Wednesday.

Tomorrow is the reward party for positive behavior for April.  We will be doing a scavenger hunt outside and having a picnic after.  Your student can bring a towel or small blanket and a “junk food” treat to enjoy!

Thank you!
