Reminders for the Week of 5-16

Leadership Day

We are preparing for our Lindbergh School Leadership day on June 2, 2016. We are asking that each family choose one of the 7 habits and create a locker poster with words and pictures describing how that habit impacts your family.

Paper and directions were already sent home – let me know if you need another paper.

We are providing the paper for your family.  Please make sure that your poster is created portrait not landscape (vertical not horizontal).

Each Lindbergh family  is being asked to create one poster per Lindbergh student in the family.     If you have more than 1 Lindbergh student in your family, the family may focus on one habit or the family can use a different  habit on each child’s poster to display.  For example, if you have 3 children at Lindbergh that means  3 posters will be turned in with a habit of choice on it.

Completed posters are due Tues May 31, 2016.  This is your chance to show the creativity of your family.  Please don’t hesitate to use different kinds of materials, glitter, colorful markers, stickers and more.

Here is a list of Habits for you to choose from

  1. Be Proactive
  2. Begin with the End in Mind
  3. Put First Things First
  4. Think Win-Win
  5. Seek First to Understand then to Be Understood
  6. Synergize
  7. Sharpen the Saw

Science Fair Boot Camp Project – Growing Gummy Worms!

Students are bringing home their Science Fair Boot Camp project today.  Attached are the materials you need, directions and headings for your student’s display board.

The project was modeled in class this week.  Students should be able to guide you through the project.

The project basically walks students through the Scientific Process – so as you complete the project talk to them about their “hypothesis”, their “observations”, and their “conclusion”.

Help them record their findings on the display board with the included headings.  These display boards will be on on the night of Science Fair Boot Camp.

Have fun and good luck!

Daily 5 – April 6th and 7th

Daily 5

We will not be doing Daily 5 today or tomorrow.  We will not need the parent volunteers.

You may have noticed that Lindbergh School is getting new windows.

I will be attempting to finish our weekly lessons because our time in our classroom may be cut short this week.  We may be combing with Mrs. Schropp’s class Friday in her room so that the new windows can be installed in our classroom.

PBIS Positive Behavior Reward

Don’t forget that our reward party for March is this Friday.  The students will be watching some of the Tiger’s opening day game.  Students are welcome to bring a “junk food” snack and wear their Detroit Tigers gear.
