Raffle Ticket Sales – a note from the PTA

We have just 2 more weeks to collect our raffle ticket sales. Currently, we are way under our fundraising goal. If we are unable to reach our goal, future events may be in jeopardy of being cancelled 🙁  Please continue to sell those tickets or make a donation to the PTA. If we reach our goal, we will not need to fundraise for the rest of the school year 🙂 If you have any questions, please contact Vanessa Mkrtumian at vmkrtumian@gmail.com.

Raffle Basket

Dear Families and Friends of Young 5’s

As some of you may know, the Lindbergh annual Holiday Boutique is quickly approaching!  The boutique is held at the school on Saturday, November 11th from 9:30 am until 4:00 pm.  The Holiday Boutique will have countless artists selling beautiful handmade crafts, bake sale goodies, and classroom gift baskets which will be raffled off – one of the biggest attractions of the boutique!

Historically, each classroom creates a uniquely themed basket that is raffled off at the Holiday Boutique.  100% of the money collected from the basket raffle is then divided equally among our Lindbergh teachers.  This money is used to partially reimburse our teachers for the numerous items they purchase with their own personal money: classroom books, supplies, class rewards, to name a few.

This year, because of the individual class sizes, the Young 5s classes will be combining efforts by creating a single basket to represent the two classes.  Our theme for the basket is “A Day in the D”.  The Westin Book Cadillac has generously donated a 1 night stay with complimentary valet parking for our basket (thanks to the Michalkiewicz family for organizing!).  We hope to add more items to the basket which will compliment the Detroit stay for our lucky raffle winner.  This is where we need your help! If any of you have items that will compliment our theme we would be happy to add them to the basket.  We are also asking all of you to consider donating $5-$10 in order to purchase additional items for the basket such as restaurant gift certificates, coffee shop certificates, etc.

Important Notes:

1) Your contribution to our basket is tax- deductible!  Donation receipts are available for anyone who would like to donate more that the $10 contribution.

2) There will be a banner on display at the boutique thanking business for their donations.  They will also be mentioned in our newsletter. These businesses must have their donations provided on or before November 1st  in order to be included on the banner.

3) Attached you will find our proof of non-profit status given to us by the Michigan PTA.  Please feel free to copy this note in order to solicit any business would like to contribute and be included in this important event.

4) Please have all donations returned by Friday, November 3rd so we are able to shop and plan for the basket.

We thank you for all of your support.  Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
