News and Information

What We Did This Week

We review our Alpha Friends daily.

We introduced the sight word: here

We are working on our Mother’s Day books.

.In math we continue to have “number talks” using our ten frames and we continue to practice writing numerals 1-20.  We have started a measuring project using tracings of our body.

We rotated through our Daily 5 Literacy Centers.

In Science we are moving towards the needs of plants.  We will plant next week.

Reward Party Wednesday

PBIS Reward Celebration

Wednesday, May 2nd

The April reward is watching the Tigers Game and junky snack.  Your child may bring in a “Junky” snack (chips, candy, cookies, and soda or sports drink) to enjoy in the afternoon while watching the Tigers WIN! Students can also wear a Tiger shirt or hat on Wednesday.

What We Did This Week

We review our Alpha Friends daily.

We introduced the sight word: he

We are “stretching sounds” and recording what we hear in our journals.

We are reading stories about Spring.

In handwriting we are beginning practice with letters that have straight lines and slanted lines! – this week we practiced N.

In math we continue to have “number talks” using our ten frames and we continue to practice writing numerals 1-20.  We introduced the concept of measuring.  We used different materials in the classroom to measure our feet and arm.

We rotated through our Daily 5 Literacy Centers.

We presented our Science Fair Boot Camp projects to the class.

In Science we are discussing the needs of plants and animals.  We made bird nests as we discussed the need for shelter.

Science Fair Bootcamp – April 26th, 5:30-7:00

What We Did This Week

We review our Alpha Friends daily.

We introduced the sight word: it

We are “stretching sounds” and recording what we hear in our journals.

We continued our introduction to Opinion writing, writing our opinions about our favorite book.

We finished reading stories by Eric Carle.

In handwriting we are beginning practice with letters that have straight lines and slanted lines! – this week we practiced M.

In math we continue to have “number talks” using our ten frames and we continue to practice writing numerals 1-20.  We introduced the concepts of “greater than” and “less than.”

We visited our special classes, Gym, Art, Music and Media.

We rotated through our Daily 5 Literacy Centers.

We attended the jazz band concert (students from Bryant Middle School) as our weekly behavior reward.

In Science we are discussing the needs of plants and animals.  We made bird feeders to hang outdoors and we discussed why animals need shelter.

Science Boards (Gummy Worm project) are due next week.  The students will present their boards in class before Science Fair Boot Camp on Thursday night.
