Lindbergh’s Holiday Boutique

Lindbergh’s largest fundraiser is the Holiday Boutique that happens in November.  At the event there is a basket raffle.  Each classroom is to assemble a themed basket.  Our class chose to create a basket based on Detroit Sports Teams.

We will be asking for monetary or merchandise donations for our basket soon.

It helps to have a “big ticket” item donation (for example, one parent has offered to donate Tiger Tickets!).  Please let me know if you can help or have any “special connections” in regards to the Detroit Tigers, Lions, Red Wings or Pistons (it doesn’t have to be tickets – maybe you have another “big” item you would be willing to donate).  We are trying to decide wither to focus on one team- or all of the teams!

The best part is that all of the money that is raised from the basket raffle is given to the teachers to spend on their classroom!

What We Did This Week

Our Alpha Friend was Reggie Rooster, Letter Rr

We worked in our Poem Books

We completed our Letter R paper

We started “READ TO SELF” – we are building our stamina so we can begin Daily 5.  Ask your student how many minutes we can read.

In math we are counting to 100, making patterns on our calendar and with pattern blocks

Our “good habit” we talked about in class this week (from The Leader In Me) is “Beginning With The End in Mind”

We are learning Fall finger poems and reading stories about Fall

We completed our Fall NWEA testing (a standardized test we took in the computer lab).  We’ll talk about these at parent/teacher conferences.

We attended our first reward party for those students who stayed on “green” for 80% of the month.

Have a great weekend!
