PBIS (Positive Behavior)

We continue to work with with our positive behavior marking system this week.  If a student breaks a classroom rule the following will happen:

1st time a rule is broken they will move to yellow =  “SLOW DOWN” (warning)

2nd time a rule is broken they will move to orange =  “Contact Co-Pilot”  (time out or time out from recess)

3rd time a rule is broken they will move to red =  “Turbulence”  (sent to the principal)

At any time if the student is found improving their behavior they may move their clip back .

Your student’s behavior report will come home daily on the back of their red communication folder.  Please sign and return the behavior chart daily.

*** Our first reward for the month of September is extra playground time and POPSICLES!  The student earns this reward by moving their clip less than 6 times.  This reward will happen at the end of September.

Students are welcome to bring and leave water bottles in their locker for throughout the day.

Curriculum

  • Our  Alpha Friend this week was Mimi Mouse and the letter Mm.
  • We added our letter Mm and letter Ss poems to our poem books
  • In Math we continue to count on our number grid, explore our pattern blocks and geometric shapes, and we worked with matching quantity to the numbers 1-5.
  • We still are working on our classroom rules and routines.
  • In “Daily 5” we continued to talk about the “3 Ways to Read a Story”  and we also picked stories to go in our book boxes.  We will begin Read to Self next week.
  • I am still assessing all of the students on their alphabet letter identification and sounds.  Soon we should be able to form reading/literacy groups.
