School Closings
Due to power outages caused by this weekend’s ice storm, Bryant, River Oaks, and the entire Heights Campus will be closed on Monday, April 16, 2018. This includes Howe, STEM Middle school, ACE, and the Magnet High School all located on the Heights Campus.

This week and the week after 5th graders are taking the English Language Arts followed by Math, Science and Social Studies. Please remind your children to sleep early and have a good breakfast.

Kindergarten at Work
Kindergarten students from Mrs. Caillouette’s class completed a picture sort with Mrs. Muston. They worked on saying which pictures began with the sounds of b, m and p.
Parent Talk
Just a reminder Parent Talk classes start tomorrow January 9th at 1:30.
Margaret King Ahmed – Parent Involvement Educator will be hosting effective Parent talk classes here at River Oaks School.
What is Parent Talk? You will learn communication skills that empower, encourage self-responsible behaviors, self-motivation and character development. Learn practical skills to positively effect the social and emotional development of your children and family. You will increase achievement and decrease discipline issues with effective Parent Talk.
Classes will be held on Tuesday’s at 1:30 – 3:30.

February 6,13,27. March 6th
Graduation will be March 13, 2018

Winter Break
Tomorrow is the last day of school before Winter Break. School will reopen on Monday, Janurary 8th 2018.
