I would like to invite all students to bring in card games or board games tomorrow for a portion of the class. No Electronics/No phones, just good old fashioned games to share with classmates. Be ready to explain how they relate to math 🙂
We worked on the end of Lesson 9 in the Instruction Book. The Practice and PROBLEM SOLVING WAS PASSED GIVEN TO THE STUDENTS,in addition IXL – 6th Grade tab G.1 and G.2.
Work on the packet and IXL this weekend, we will have a little time on Monday. We will go over the packet the second half of class. Quiz is planned for Tuesday.
I must say that this is the biggest “battle I have ever had”! I am proud of the students and their families who are giving from their heart. The students are really thinking about others 🙂
Here are the results so far:
1st place- 4/5 with 226 pairs of socks
2nd place- 7/8 with 167 pairs of socks
3rd place-29 pairs of socks
We are working on Lesson 9, adding and subtracting decimals.
We will work through lesson 9 this week and have a quiz sometime early next week.
Watch for practice and problem solving packets and IXL practice before the quiz.
So, each year I try to have some sort of “Battle” with my students to help others in need.
This year we talked about the need for SOCKS. We all hear about donating gloves and hats in the winter time, but how about peoples feet? They get cold too!
SOCKS are the NUMBER ONE thing requested at homeless shelters. Think about it, we use our feet everyday, they take us places, right?
My challenge to my students is to donate as many NEW pairs of socks for homeless, which I will take to a local shelter. The battle will go for two weeks. Ending on Thursday, 12/19/19.
Let’s help others out, by giving the gift of warm feet!
Together we can make a difference 🙂
Last year my students donated over 500 pairs of socks… Sarah set a goal this year. Lets see if we can meet her goal!
