Math Module 1 Lesson 7 Homework

Today your child will have math homework for Module 1 Lesson 7. You will find their homework in their Math ¨Succeed¨ book (not their Learn or Practice books).

They are only expected to do the homework problems for Module 1 Lesson 7. Please only have your child complete the problems that we circled together in class. These are the “MUST DO” problems. They have a choice to complete the “CAN DO” problems which are the non circled problems. Your child needs to show decomposing (number bonds) to solve the problems (see examples for problems). Your child needs to show decomposing and math pictures for the RDW (READ, DRAW, WRITE) problem. Students circled Problems 1, 2, 3a,3d, and 4. Students worked on a similar problem like this in class and should be able to show you their classwork, in their LEARN book, if needed.

Please also read the Homework Helper letter for parents as guidance. I have also provided a video for parents so that they are able to help navigate their child through their homework on Schoology. You will also find a video for today’s lesson that will explain DECOMPOSING NUMBERS, and the TAKE OUT TEN strategy. Please go to courses and click the math folder and click Module 1 Lesson 7.

Thanks so much and have a good night!

Learning Labs and Homework 9-15-20

Today we worked on our math homework and independent reading while we were in learning labs. As students were working on problems Mrs. Robins was able to visit and work with several students in small groups or independently. Yes!!!

Today your child was given math homework for Module 1 Lesson 6. You will find their homework in their Math ¨Succeed¨ book (not their Learn or Practice books).

They are only expected to do the homework problems for Module 1 Lesson 6. Please only have your child complete the problems that we circled together in class. These are the “MUST DO” problems. They have a choice to complete the “CAN DO” problems which are the non circled problems. The ¨Must Do¨ problems were 1, 2, 3 b, c, f, and g. Your child needs to show decomposing (number bonds) by taking a ten out and to solve the problems like the example in 3a. Students worked on a similar problem like this in class and should be able to show you their classwork, in their LEARN book, if needed.

Please also read the Homework Helper letter (in your childś Succeed Book before todayś homework) for parents as guidance. I have also provided a video for parents so that they are able to help navigate their child through their homework on Schoology. You will also find a video for today’s lesson that will explain DECOMPOSING NUMBERS BY TAKING TEN OUT. Please go to courses and click the math folder and click Module 1 Lesson 6.

Thanks so much and have a good night!

Attendance

Dear Parents,

A friendly reminder: Even though school is online now, attendance is still being taken. The same procedures as before for absences are required if your child cannot attend class. If your child is absent, sick or having technical issues please let the teacher know by emailing, going to parent connect and follow the instructions for absences, calling the attendance line 24hrs and leave a message (313) 827-6301. Please make sure you clearly state the date, name of the child, teacher and reason for absence.

Thank you for your patience and consideration during these trying times. We will get through this. Stay strong!!!!

Special Area Classes

If there is a question or concern about a Special Area Course you can reach that teacher by email. You can find the Special Area teacher emails on our school website. It’s best to reach each teacher for their own individual Course since it’s their Course (like a classroom).

Please also subscribe to my blog if you have not had the opportunity to do so. That’s where I am posting announcements and important information until we transition to using Schoology.  Once you are in my Blog click SUBSCRIBE and add your email.  My Blogs should then come directly to your that email.

Please also refer to the Welcome Letter I sent earlier.  There is helpful information in that letter.

Last, I would also recommend having someone help your child bookmark important websites on their Chromebook. For example, bookmark the Schoology website.  Your child will be in Schoology often.  You can do this by opening a favorite website and then clicking the star that is in the search window.  Once you click on the star save that website as a bookmark.  It’s helped me with my own children at home. I love to bookmark important websites since it allows quick and easy access to sites that your child will often visit.  I hope this email helps.

 Thanks so much!

Take Care
