Library Book Checkout

Parents,

We have began library book checkout at school. It is still an option to do it online also. Students will be able to checkout books in school on Monday (Group A) and Tuesday (Group B) every other week. So next week they will not be checking out books in school, but will be doing so the following week. So the next time we checkout books in class will be on Monday, May 3rd, and Tuesday, May 4th. Again, they can always checkout books online, and they can also return them any of the days they are here at school. Thanks so much!

Homeroom Parents (For this year!)

Hi Lindbergh Families, we are looking for some Homeroom Parent Volunteers (HRP’s ) to finish out the year with our classes.  If this is something you are interested in please email your teacher by Friday, April 24th, with your full name, students full name, your email and phone number you would like me to contact you at.  Any questions on requirements please contact me at 313-580-8020.  Thanks again for all you do to make our Lindbergh students and staff feel loved.  Danielle

Report Card Envelopes

Please sign your child’s report card folder and send it back to school with your child. This helps us to know that you have received your child’s report card. If your child received a DiRip with their report card please fill out the the parent and student section with signatures and send back with the report card envelope too. Thanks for your help with this in advance.

Math Help! (Coin Bag)

Today we started our lesson on counting coins. On last week’s and this week’s lesson plans we have asked for students to make bags of coins (with help) at home.  These bags need to have 10 pennies, 20 nickels, 10 dimes, and 4 Quarters. These bags will need to travel between home and school for the money lessons in this unit.  This will really help students to get familiar with what the front and back of these coins look like, naming the coins, and give them a real life math manipulative to use when solving money (coin) problems.  I would also recommend making a sheet with each type of coin taped to it (one of the front and one of back (my example in Schoology only shows the front), with the name and amount written by each coin so that your child can use it as reference.  An example of this Coin sheet has been put into today’s math assignment.  Thanks so much!  Happy counting!

Miles for Smiles (Mr. Harvey’s Walking and Running Club)

If you signed up for Miles for Smiles please remember it begins this week. Group A students that signed up will go on this Thursday, and Group B students that signed up will go on this Friday. It is from 2:45 to 3:45. If you have any questions regarding Miles for Smiles please contact Mr. Harvey. Thanks so much! And… don’t forget to wear comfortable shoes!!!

Math Preparation For Unit 7 Lesson 6 (Coin Bag)

  • To start preparing for Unit 7 Lessons 6-13
Problem Solving with Coins and Bills it would
be helpful and suggested to make
your child a baggie with the following
coins. Please keep it in their work space and
once we return to hybrid/face to face it
will need to travel between home and
    school. 10 pennies, 20 nickels,
10 dimes, 4 quarters. Thanks so much!

Be a Hero! Hero Squad Donations and Information!

Hero Squad Donations Are Due Soon and we have raised over $5400 so far! Remember, we are raising money in honor of Selena Harb, a 2nd grader from Lindbergh who lost her battle with Leukemia this year. Let’s do our part in finding a cure!

***Please continue collecting donations online through Spring Break!***

Hero Squad inspires students to always move closer to their goals and work to make the world a better place. By participating in Hero Squad, your student has learned critical self-management skills like goal-setting and self-motivation as well as important social awareness skills like empathy and respect for others.

Please have your student share reminders with friends and family to make donations towards our school goal. It’s not too late to set up your page and join our schools efforts!  Visit www.HeroSquad.org, find Lindbergh, and select “Join Your Classroom Team”. After setting up your page, share it on social media, email, text messages and make phone calls to friends and family on why it’s important to join the Hero Squad. Super cool Hero Gear will be provided to students reaching fundraising milestones.

Families, want to learn what it means to be a part of the Hero Squad?  Check out the awesome Hero Squad virtual assembly.
