Wednesday Excitement!

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Hopefully you are all diving into our first full week back from Spring Break. I’m looking forward to hearing all of the great stories on our Friday Google Meet session with the kiddos!

I just wanted to pop in and share a couple of announcements.

  • By Friday, every parent should be receiving an updated missing assignment note. These assignments will be everything missing from March 22nd- April 10th (Friday before Spring Break). Please make sure to continue doing these assignments. It will help you and your child be prepared for next school year.
  • I was so thrilled today, when I began checking last Friday’s assignments. We had our Area and Perimeter Art lesson. I was really blown away with how these came out. Since we don’t have a bulletin board in class right now, I figured I could do a virtual bulletin board. Please see these amazing pieces of Area and Perimeter Art below:
  • Don’t forget that we will be having our weekly Google Meet session on Friday at 11:00am it is so important that every child is present at this meeting since we will be going over norms for the next week. If your child cannot make it, I will have a recorded version posted on the blog at a later time.
  • Lastly, please see the memo below from the Lindbergh PTA.

Scholastic Online Book Fair

The PTA is hosting an online book fair which runs April 8 through April 21. There’s a wide selection of materials for all ages—pre-K through high school—including books, educational workbooks, puzzles, arts and crafts, building sets, and more. Check out the “shop by grade level or age” feature.

Lindbergh earns 25% with every purchase when you click “Shop Now” from our webpage: https://www.scholastic.com/bf/lindberghflyers(The shopping will not be activated until April 8.)
In order for our school to receive credit for your purchases, you must start from that specific book fair homepage (not a Scholastic Book Club or related site) and sign in. You do not have to be a Lindbergh parent to shop… so share with your friends!

All purchases ship directly to customers, with FREE standard shipping when you spend $25 or more (on books only – not the junky stuff).

Thank you for supporting our school and we hope that this opportunity to find new books provides some joy during this uncertain time. Keep reading, Flyers!

Have a great day!

Tuesday Update

Good Evening Parents,

I hope that you are having an excellent day today. Thank you so much for everything you are doing. I’m so lucky that I have such amazing parents. Earlier today I was in multiple meetings getting updated on our Remote Learning plan, hence why I wasn’t able to post our read-aloud until right now. Feel free to watch whenever and enjoy!

Along with this read aloud video, Mrs. Baloga wanted me to share this note below:

Dear Parents and 3rd grade students,

This letter is to inform you of my plans for next school year.  I am planning on performing our musical next school year in October.  Please keep your costumes and if you have a speaking part please refresh your lines periodically.  As soon as we know more about the next school year, and Ms. Tiba and I can discuss a date, I will let you all know.   I hope you all are safe and healthy making the best of this very different situation.

Best Wishes!

Mrs. Baloga

Monday’s Assignments

Welcome Back Everyone!

The reading and math assignments have both been posted into our Google Classroom for today. As a reminder, that these assignments are due a week from today. If you need more time to complete the assignments, just reach out to me and let me know. I’m here to help you in any way possible.

Along with the assignments being posted, please be a little patient with me today if it takes me a little longer to be back to you. Since it is the first day coming back from spring break, I have several emails I am responding to. I will get to everyone today, but it might just take me a little longer than normal. Thank you for understanding!

Week at a Glance for the Week of 4/13

Happy Easter everyone! 🐣 Jesus is risen 💙 on We Heart It

Happy Easter everyone! I hope that this Spring Break was exactly what you and your family needed during this time. I can’t wait to hear about some of the adventures that your family has embarked on!

Since we will be heading back to our normal routine tomorrow, I wanted to give you an update on what is to come this week.

-Hopefully everyone has received their electronic missing homework folder. This folder was emailed out to everyone on April 3rd before Spring Break. If you haven’t received the folder, please reach out to me and I would be more than happy to resend it.

-I hope to keep you updated by Friday every week what is missing for your child. If your would like a midweek update, please feel free just to reach out to me personally and I can take a look for you.

-Due to Governer Whitmer’s executive order ending the school year, school districts around the state have to come up with a Remote Learning Plan that has to be approved. Since this announcement was made, Dearborn leaders have been meeting over Spring Break to come up with a plan. As referenced in Dr. Maleyko’s letter (see below for another copy), they hope to have a district-wide plan in place by mid-week. I will keep you informed as soon as I know if there will be any changes to our routine already in place.

-Lastly, I have gone ahead and placed on Google Classroom the weekly reading log and writing prompt. These are to be worked on throughout the week, so no need to rush these assignments.

In addition, here is the weekly assignment list. Feel free to print off and keep as a reference.

Happy Spring Break

From April 6th-April 12th Dearborn Public Schools will be on Spring Break. At this time there will be no new assignments posted. So enjoy your family this week and have a great Easter.

However, if you feel like you might miss Lindbergh a little here is a video from the Staff at Lindbergh.

New Assignment Posted

Good Morning Third Grade,

Today’s math assignment has been posted in Google Classroom, and it sure is a creative one! Along with the math assignment, today I have decided not to post another reading lesson. I wanted to make sure that everyone was able to work on some missing assignments before our Spring Break and not feel too overwhelmed.

Just a quick reminder…

Today we will have our first Google Meet session with students. Google Meet is what we will be using instead of Zoom. Please check our Google Classroom at 11:00am for the link to the meeting. If you need help using Google Meet make sure to look at the video posted yesterday.

This morning/afternoon, I will be sending out missing homework notes for tasks that are missing for the first two weeks. Please make sure and review this with your child and complete those assignments.

Next week is Spring Break. Take this time to Sharpen your Saw with your family! No new work or videos will be posted during this week.

Ms. Robey Daily Check-In: April 2nd

Wow! Isn’t today a beautiful day outside?! I am amazed how spring has finally sprung. We have a couple of reminders that I wanted to make sure we are all aware of. As it is Thursday, listed below you will find our next chapter of “Matilda” in our Ms. Robey Check-In video. Make sure to check it out!

Along with our Check-In video, tomorrow we will be having our first Google Meet session as a class. It will be at 11:00am tomorrow. The link for our meeting will be posted inside our Google Classroom right at 11:00 am. So make sure you sign on early. I highly recommend you watch the video below before our session, since it will help you walk through how to use Google Meet.

Lastly, parents please be on the lookout tomorrow for your child’s missing homework information. I will be sending a Google Drive Folder to you, that has a list of items that your child has yet to turn into our Google Classroom broken down by each week. If your child has everything turned in, that will also be noted on the documents in the folder.

If for some reason you would like for me to send the information to a different email address other than the one we have on file, please reach out to me via email at robeym@dearbornschools.org or through Remind.

Thank you for your continued support and go have an amazing day!

Zoom Parent Meeting Recording

Thank you to all of those parents who attended this afternoon’s parent meeting. I really appreciate you for taking time out of your busy day to come and listen to the updates in our classroom. It means a lot.

Just in case you were unable to attend, I have recorded the Zoom Meeting from this afternoon. Please watch it to get some updates and information. If you have any questions, feel free to email or text me through Remind.

Thank you!
