Community Survey- Please take!

Dear Parents,

I hope you and your family are safe and healthy. Today we completed the first week of our new Continuity plan guidelines and I am seeking your feedback. Below is a short survey to help us better understand the needs of the community as a whole. The collected results will allow us to make some well-informed decisions moving forward. It is anonymous and greatly appreciated.

Dear Parents,
If you have completed the survey to request a Chromebook, we will be distributing them on Monday, April 27 from 2pm-4pm outside the main entrance.  To ensure we are safe guarding ourselves and those around us, please remember to come alone (leave the little ones at home), practice social distancing (we will have designated stand points on the ground), wear a mask and bring your own writing utensil.  If you have not completed the survey, please click here SURVEY.
Stay Safe and Well!

Thursday Student Google Meet Lesson- Fractions

This morning we had our first math Google Meet Lesson. During this lesson we introduced concepts of fractions: parts of a whole, numerator, denominator, parts of a set, etc.

If you were unable to attend today’s lesson, please watch the video below to see a taped version of the lesson.

Along with watching the lesson, students were asked to complete a Google Form Exit Ticket in Google Classroom to provide feedback to me so I know how to help guide future lessons. Please make sure to have this completed as well.

Parent Google Meet Session

Today we had a Google Meet Parent Session to discuss new Remote Learning changes. Some of the items we covered was the new grading scale, participation, and live lessons. Thank you to all of those parents who took the time out of their busy day to attend our meeting. If you were unable to attend please watch the video below for a recording of our Google Meet:

50 Best Monday Motivation Quotes — Monday Morning Motivation Quotes

Good Afternoon Everyone!!

Both reading and math lessons are now uploaded into Google Classroom. Make sure to take a look at those today!

Tomorrow we will also be starting our first live lesson with Ms. Robey using Google Meets at 12:30pm. The link to this lesson will be found on Google Meets 5 minutes before our scheduled meeting time. At this lesson we will be reviewing the ELA assignments that have been posted (Writing and Reading). Please make sure your child has looked at and has begun working on those assignments before our session on Tuesday. The assignments do not need to be completed, but the students should have some prior knowledge before the Google Meet.

Just a reminder that if you need any extra help, please let me know. I’m here to help. My office hours for today are 2:30-3:30. We can set up an appointment so that way I can help you the best I can.

Thank you and have a great Monday!

Week at a Glance for the Week of 4/19

I hope you are all enjoying this 60 degree Sunday! Take some time out today to go for a walk and get some vitamin D! Here is our weekly news:

We will be implementing the “Continuity Remote Learning Plan” from the district beginning tomorrow. I believe much will not change. I am adding more Google Meets to the week, to instruct and guide students in live lessons. A grading and attendance policy will be implemented as well. Dr. Maleyko shared this on Friday. Here is the link to his post with all the details for K-12. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1PXb_0LYdHkfPbQt6y0aju-7itbTrDFPt_yYH2TyQY20/edit?usp=sharing

Along with implementing the Remote Learning Plan, I have updated the week at a glance to reflect some of those changes. You will notice that hopefully it looks a little more organized and there are two new sections on our sheet. The changes are listed below:

  1. You will notice there is a Google Meet category. Every week we will have two live lessons with Ms. Robey. They typically will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The link will be provided within Google Classroom 5 minutes before lesson is expected to begin.
  2. I’ve also included office hours. My office hours time is set up there to communicate with students and parents. If you are having issues with an assignment, technology, or something else regarding our classroom we can schedule a time within office hours that I can contact you. Feel free to use this time if you need to.

Here is our more detailed week at a glance:

A suggestion would be to print this and put it in a place visible for everyone!

Lastly, I will be having a Google Meet session for parents on Wednesday, April 22nd at 4:00pm. This session will help us reflect upon the new District Remote Learning Plan and to provide feedback. I will make sure to post the link to this meeting on Wednesday. If for some reason you cannot attend, please let me know.

Thank you for everything that you do parents. I will give every parent a virtual boarding pass! It is an extremely stressful time and you are always doing your best. I know we couldn’t do it without you! Keep up the great work!

Friday Focus

Snoopy (With images) | Snoopy friday, Snoopy funny, Happy friday ...

Good Morning Everyone!

So as you probably already noticed in Google Classroom there will be only one assignment today posted. As a third grade team we thought it would be more beneficial if you focus today on getting caught up and taking the Google Form quiz.

We also will be having our Google Meet Session at 11 am today. Make sure to login to our Google Classroom around 10:55 for the link to access our meeting. I will also post the link on the blog around that time as well. It is important that everyone tries to make it there during this time, since we will be going over some of our learning.

Lastly, I will be sending out today the missing homework assignments from the week before break today. Please complete these missing assignments at your earliest convenience.

Thank You!

Thursday Check-In!

Hey Everyone!

I hope that your Thursday is filled with lots of sunshine and less snow! Today, I just have two items I would like to share.

  1. Don’t forget tomorrow is our student 11 am Google Meet session. This is a very important session to attend. We will be going over a couple items that are changing for our Remote Learning and I would also like to see those smiling faces! I am also asking students to bring one item that they would like to share. I would like for it to be something that they did over Spring Break, but if that is not available please be creative.
  2. Listed below is our Read-Aloud for today. I hope you enjoy!

As always, if you need any help please let me know! Thank you!
