A Big Thank You!

I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to all of those parents who donated either materials or time today for our third grade Multiplication Sundae Party. Our students truly had a wonderful time. The delicious sundae spread rivaled Dairy Queen!

I also really enjoyed my Ms. Robey plaque. I can’t tell you how much I was moved by this gift. The thought of having something Disney is already magical, but when you add the fact that my students get to sign the back, I could have just died. Your students have been such a blessing to my life, and I’m honored that I get to play apart in their educational journey. Thank you so much for all of your work and dedication to our classroom this year. I have loved every minute of it.

Lastly, I just wanted to say that one of our parent volunteers had left their jacket in the classroom. Below you will find a picture. If this is your jacket, please just let me know so that I can send it home with your child.

Bus Transportation for the Last Days of School

Good morning,

During the last week of school and the last day, here are a few friendly reminders that really help our buses:

  1. During the last week please have the students schedule alternative means of transportation for any large school projects that need to go home.  Also, if possible, please limit / eliminate the use of backpacks especially on the last day.
  2.      For the students safety, please remind school staff that food and drinks are not permitted on the bus.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation please let me know if you have any questions or need further clarification.

Photos Needed

Good Evening Parents,

For our celebration on Friday, I am putting together a class slideshow. If you have any pictures of our class from this year and would like them included in our slideshow, please send them my way.

Also, do not forget tomorrow’s celebration is our Pool Party Read-In. Please send your child in with their favorite floatie or beach towel.

Thank you!

Last Week of School Help Needed

Good Evening Parents,

Can you believe that it is already the last week of school?! I know my mind is completely blown away at how fast the time has gone.

I have some very special events planned this week for the students. I hope to make this last week in third grade a truly magical one.

Listed below is a rundown of the events that I have planned for the students. Remember that some of these events will be revealed to students the day of, however I wanted to keep you in the loop for items they may need to bring.

Monday- No homework for the rest of the year and extra recess

Tuesday- Field Day and Dance Party (students will receive glow-sticks on this day)

Wednesday- Pool Party Read-In

Thursday- Multiplication Sundae Race and Movie Day

Friday- Classroom Olympics (minute-to-win-it games) and End-of-Year Award ceremony for our class

As you can see we will be busy celebrating this week all of the hard work your students have put in this school year! In order to make some of these events happen though, I could use some extra help/donations.

For Wednesday, I am looking for 2 blue tarps to be our “swimming pool.” If you have a blue tarp, and you wouldn’t mind having our class borrow it please let me know. You will get it back that same day. Also, on Wednesday students can bring a pool floatie or beach towel to sit on while we do our Pool Party read in.   Please make sure to send in a floatie or towel with your child.

On Thursday, we are looking for some food donations for our Sundae party. Please see the SignUp Genius below if you can donate a sundae topping for our class.

We also could use some extra parent volunteers to help scoop the ice cream and hand out toppings. The part will start at 12:45 and go until 1:50. If you are interested in helping please let me know.

Lastly, over the course of next week we will be engineering a water slide out of classroom materials for marbles. We are looking for cardboard tubes found in toilet paper rolls or paper towel rolls. If you have any of these at home, please send them in with your child.

Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions for our last week of school. Thank you in advance for your donations. We truly appreciate it!

Field Day is Coming!

Happy Friday everyone!

I just wanted to take discuss our upcoming Field Day. Field Day will be this Tuesday and in order to help things run smoothly, we could use some extra assistance. Please see the SignUp Genius for volunteer positions that we need filled. We can’t do this without you!

Friendly reminder that on Field Day please send your child with tennis shoes, a water bottle, a hat, and sunscreen already on. We have field day in the morning and students should be prepared to hit the ground running as soon as they get to school.

If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to Mr. Harvey.
