Can you believe it is already the last week in September?! Wow, does time go by fast! This week we will be continuing our units of study and we will be stopping to do checkpoints along the way! Here are some of the items we will be covering this week, as well as some important events .
Math- Modeling the distributive property of multiplication using arrays, Mid-Module Checkpoint, and modeling division as the unknown factor in multiplication by using arrays and tape diagrams.
Reading: Establishing work on writing, voracious reading, 3 Ways to read a book, and do the pictures match the word skills.
Writing: Starting Writer’s Workshop, Heart Maps, establishing routines, and researching great narratives
Science: Forces and Motion, push and pull, and what machines make our work easier.
Social Studies: Human and natural characteristics of Michigan, absolute and relative location of Michigan, and researching facts about natural characteristics.
Spelling: content words: Dearborn, lakes, author, motion, and mass
spelling pattern short e and long e: each, met, rest, teach, and feet
