Today students applied what they’ve learned about magnets to design their own magnetic locks!
We had the chance to compare both sliding locks and turning locks. Students were able to design and experiment with different methods used to lock their paper door. Here’s something you can do to encourage your child’s curiosity at home: look for other products that use magnets! For example:
- Do you have any bags, coin purses, or wallets that snap shut using magnets?
- Do any of your drawers or cabinets stay closed using magnets?
- Do you use magnets to hold things on your refrigerator?
