Can you believe we are only a couple of days from our long awaited field trip?! Hopefully the weather holds out! Here are some logistics for the big day this Thursday.

Where: Lansing Capitol Building, Michigan Historical Museum, and Impressions 5 Science Center

When: Thursday, February 21, 2019. We will be travelling by charter bus to our destinations. Please make sure you are here between 6:40-6:45am. We are leaving promptly once we are checked in, so please make sure you arrive on time. If you are a chaperone, we are asking that you ride the bus with our class. Parking is quite challenging at the capitol, so you will be relieved to not have to look for a space.

We are aiming to be back in Dearborn around 4:30-5:00pm. Please pick up or designate a drive to pick up your student in the cafeteria. They are NOT allowed to walk home.

General Information:

– Lunch will be eaten at the Science Center. Student’s will not be able to purchase lunch at our destination, so please make sure to bring a bagged lunch. Make sure to bring a packed lunch in a brown paper bag or plastic bag. This will allow students to not have to worry about their lunch boxes. Make sure to label your child’s lunch with their name on it.

~In addition, we are asking that you please pack 2 nutritious snacks for your child for the ride to and from school.  Please pack juice boxes in case of spillage.

~What to Wear: Our Lansing Field Trip Shirt, Lindbergh Shirt, or a red shirt, and comfortable shoes. We also ask that you wear comfortable walking shoes!  It will be relatively cold on Thursday, so make sure to bring gloves/hats/coats. We also will be doing plenty of walking. So please wear comfortable gym shoes!

~No extra money is needed.  We will not be going to any gift shops.

~ On the bus your child is allowed to bring electronics at their own risk! Students will not be allowed to take electronics into the museums and capitol building, so they will remain on the bus. However,  we are not responsible for students items getting damaged/stolen. So if your child brings an item, it is up to them to be responsible for it.
