Happy Monday! During class this week, your child will be diving deeper into our first units of curriculum and will be continuing their fall testing. In order to help tailor instruction to meet your child’s needs, we will be testing using NWEA as well as DRA.
Due to time constraints, we did not have time to fill out planners today. Please make sure to touch base with your child about what we did. The only homework assignment today was to do your child’s 20 minutes of reading for their reading log.

Reading: Good fit books, Read to Self and Work on Writing modeling, voracious reading, and continue reading 20 minutes every night at home.
Writing: All About Me Newspaper (worked on only in class) and setting up Writer’s Workshop
Science: Engineering cycle and simple machines
Social Studies: Geography of Michigan; What is a state and where is it located.
Math: Interpreting the meaning of factors and understanding the meaning of the unknown as the size of a group in division
Spelling: content words: array, county, geography, push, and pull
spelling pattern short i and long i: bit, stick, brick, pie, and polite
Leader in Me: Paradigms- Paradigms are a key concept underlying the 7 Habits. Our paradigms about ourselves, other people, and life in general affect what we do. What we do impacts our results. Incomplete or incorrect paradigms create limitations.
