Bellwork reviewed probability problems for Thursday’s quiz.

The remainder of the period we began discussing Sec 12-3, Analyzing Data.  This included the Measures of Central Tendancy of Mean, Median, and Mode.

Hwk #27 is due tomorrow.  See yesterday’s blog for assignment.

Bellwork reviewed finding different probabilities and finding the number of outcomes.

Hwk #26 is due today.

The remainder of the period students learned to generate random numbers using the graphing calculator and using these to do a simulation and using the results to find the probability that a small restaurant is overbooked.

Students were then introduced to the concept of Conditional Probability, Sec 12-2.

Hwk #27 is due on Wednesday:

Sec 12-2, pages 656-658, problems 1-8, 25-27.

Bellwork reviewed finding geometric probablities, probabilities using Venn Diagrams, and probabilities involving Dependent and Inedependent events.

Hwk #25 is due today.

The remainder of the period we finished our discussion on Sec 9-7 by finding the probability of Mutually Exclusive or Not Mutually Exclusive events.

Hwk #26 is due on Monday:

Sec 9-7, pages 534-535, problems 1-4, 10-13, 36-40.

Bellwork reviewed finding geometric probabilities and outcomes.

We then finished discussing Sec 1-6 by practicing some geometric probabilities and using a Venn Diagram to find probabilities.

Hwk #25 was assigned and is due on Friday:

Sec 1-6, pages 43-44, problems 17-20, 24-27, 39

The remainder of the period we began discussing Sec 9-7, Probability of Multiple Events which involves Dependent Events, Independent Events, and Mutually Exclusive Events.

Bellwork reviewed finding probabilities (Sec 1-6).

Hwk #24 is due today.

The remainder of the period we continued discussing probabilities.

Students performed a simulation to find the experimental probability of guessing at a 3-question True/False quiz and passing.  We compared the experimental probabilities with the theoretical probabilities.

We then began discussing Geometric Probability (sec 1-6).

No hwk was assigned.
