1st, 2nd, 3rd Hours:

Bellwork gave students practice transforming a generic function   y = f(x)  by using its graph and the transformed function y = af(x-h)+k.  Students also practiced graphing quadratics in Vertex Form.

Hwk #16 is due today.

The remainder of the period we continued our discussion on Sec 5-3 by writing equations of quadratics given their graph or the vertex and any other point on the graph.

Hwk #17 was made available to the students.  This hwk will be due on Thursday.       Sec 5-3 Practice Sheet.

4th & 5th Hours:

Bellwork gave students practice using the graphing calculators to make a scatter plot, find the regression equation that fits the data, and then answers questions using this equation.

The remainder of the period we finished our discussion on Sec 2-4 by discussing the Correlation Coefficient (r) and what it tells us about a graph and the regression equation for the graph.

We also discussed how to make a piecewise function using the graphing calculator.

Hwk #14 will be checked tomorrow to give some students more time.
