Bellwork reviewed graphing a quadratic equation, finding the max/min of a situation that is modeled by a quadratic function (sec 10-2), and finding factors of a number such that one of the factors is a perfect square (Sec 10-3).

Hwk #22 is due today.

The remainder of the period we discussed simplifying square roots (sec 10-3).

Hwk #23 is due on Monday: Sec 10-3, pages 526-527, problems 10-12, 21, 22, 26-28 AND simplifying the square roots that are listed on the Hwk Assignment sheet for Chapter 10.

Bellwork reviewed finding, LOS, Vertex, y-intercept, the graph of quadratics, and maximizing a real-life situation (Sec 10-1, 10-2).
Hwk #21 is due today.
The remainder of the period we began discussing how to simplify square roots (Sec 10-3).

Hwk #22 is due on Thursday. Use the sheet I printed to do this homework assignment. See yesterday’s blog entry for a copy of Hwk #22.

Bellwork reviewed characteristics of parabolas from Sec 10-1 and 10-2.

The remainder of the period we discussed how to find the LOS, vertex, and graph of quadratic functions in the form: y=ax^2+bx+c (Sec 10-2).

Hwk #21 is due tomorrow. Students are to use the sheet I’ve printed for them.
Hwk #22 is due on Thursday: Sec 10-2, pages 520-521, problems 1-3, 11-13, 16, 32-34, 37 Students are to use the sheet I’ve printed for them.

Bellwork had the students explore the graph of y=ax^2+c.
Hwk #20 is due today.
The remainder of the period we discussed the graph of y=ax^2+c and how the values of a & c affect the graph.
Hwk #21 is due on Tuesday, April 21: Sec 10-1, pages 513-515, problems 1, 2, 7, 9, 12, 13, 15, 21-26, 46. Students are to use the paper that I’ve printed out to do this homework assignment.
