Daily Blog for 1/13/2021

Students,

I have just updated all of the grades once again.  Please log into Student Connect to see if you are missing anything.  This is especially important if you are missing a unit test.  We only have one and a half weeks left in the semester, so it is critical that this work gets made up this week if possible.  I highly encourage some of you to come to my “open office hours” Zoom sessions on Thursday and Friday of these week.  I will hold these Zoom meetings from 8:15 am to 10:30 am each of these days.  I would be glad to help you on any of your missing work, and I would like to discuss exactly what you need to do to get your grade to an acceptable level.  Let’s finish this semester in a very strong way!  I will see you all at our next scheduled Zoom meeting.

Students,

I want to remind everyone that today is “B” day according to the schedule.  This means that we will have Zoom meetings for 4th, 5th, and 6th Hours this afternoon.  I also want to remind everyone that I do have my “open office hours” Zoom meeting open today, tomorrow, Thursday, and Friday, from 8:15am to 10:30am.  I encourage all of you to please come to this office hours session to help you make up missing assignments, tests, and quizzes.  If you are having trouble on any of these assignments, then this would be a great opportunity for you to get help from me.

This is our last full week of this semester!  Next week we will have four days of class, and we will be taking our final test.  This test will be over the current Unit Topic that we are learning.  I want to make sure that we all finish the semester on a great note.  Please stay on top of our current assignments, so that you are well prepared for our final test next week.

Have a great week!

Students,

Happy New Year to all of you!  I hope that all of you had a nice and relaxing break!  I want to welcome all of you back to school (Online version) starting today.  We will be starting our schedule again with “A” day today.  This means that we will have Zoom meetings today for 1st Hour (12:00pm), 2nd Hour (1:05pm), and 3rd Hour (2:10pm).  Tomorrow we will have Zoom meetings for 4th, 5th, and 6th Hours.  Please make sure that you make it to your scheduled meetings on time.  We only have three weeks left in this semester, so it is very important to finish strong and make sure that we all stay on top of the work we will be doing over the next few weeks.

Some of you are still behind in your assignments, tests, and quizzes.  It is extremely important that you make up all missing assignments as soon as you can.  Some of you did a good job of completing work over the break.  I encourage all of you to check Student Connect to see what your current grade is in my class, and to see exactly what you are missing.  I will have “open office hours” today and tomorrow from 8:15am to 10:30am.  Please come to this office hours session if you need help getting caught up with anything related to my class.  If you did not do very well on the last test, then you should come to the “open office hours” to make corrections on any of the problems you got wrong on the test.  I can award points back on your test if you understand the material after making corrections.

I look forward to seeing all of you very soon!  I want to finish this semester very strong!  Have a great day!

Students,

First of all, I want to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!  This has been a very difficult year, and we all need a relaxing break!

For the Geometry classes, there are some of you who still need to complete the Topic 3 Unit Test (Tst3).  It is posted in Envision.  Please go there and complete this test today!  If you did not do very well on this test, then you have the option of coming to “open office hours” today between 8:15am and 10:30am.  I will be glad to go over the problems you got wrong, and you can earn points back on your test.

In Algebra 1, we will be taking a short test today over Topic 3 “Linear Functions”.  Please feel free to come by office hours to help you prepare for this test if needed.

Over the break, you can still make up all of your missing work.  Please let me know if you need me to reassign any of the lesson quizzes or assignments.  I will not be checking my email every day over the break, but I will check it every few days.  Please be patient if I don’t respond to you right away.

A reminder that today is “B” day, so we do have Zoom meetings for 4th, 5th, and 6th Hours today.  Please make sure that you come to your scheduled Zoom meeting today.

Once again, have a wonderful break!  Please stay safe and healthy!  I look forward to seeing most of you later today, and all of you in 2021!

Daily Blog for 12/14/2020

Students,

I hope that you all had a very nice weekend!  We are now in our last week of school before Christmas break!  All of my classes will have one more section in their current unit, and we will have a summative test for each unit at the end of the week.  I will be making videos of each lesson (and workbook pages), as well as new videos for the assignments for each section.  All videos will be posted in Schoology.

I will have “open office hours” today and tomorrow from 8:15am to 10:30am.  Please log in to this open office hours Zoom meeting if you need help with anything related to my class.  We can work on missing assignments, making up summative lesson quizzes, and making test corrections on the last unit test.  I want to help you in any way I can!  I urge you to check Student Connect to see exactly which assignments, quizzes, and tests you are missing.  If you come to “open office hours”, then we can develop a plan for you to make up this missing work before and during the Christmas break.  Unfortunately, there are a few of you in each class who are failing or are very close to failing my class.  You will receive an “E” for the class and not receive any credit toward graduation if you do not complete enough work to get your grade above a 60%.  It is also critical that you attend all scheduled Zoom meetings.  There are some of you who have missed a few Zoom meetings along the way.  Remember that the audit system is in place and you can lose credit based on attendance.  Today, we will have scheduled Zoom meetings for 4th, 5th, and 6th Hours this afternoon.

Please reach out to me with any questions or concerns that you may have!  Please do not give up on this class!  Everyone can improve their current grade and learning in my class!  Some of you are doing very well so far!  Please keep up the good work!  I look forward to seeing all of you very soon!

Students,

I want to remind everyone to take full advantage of the opportunity to attend “open office hours” today and/or tomorrow from 8:15am to 10:30am.  During this time, we can make corrections on your last test, discuss missing lesson quizzes, make up low scores on some lesson quizzes by completing a retake for each low quiz score, make up missing assignments, and develop an overall plan for how you can improve your learning in my class and also improve your grade.  Some of you have many missing quizzes and assignments that you need to make up.  There are a few of you that still need to complete our last unit test.  This needs to be completed immediately!  Please check Student Connect to see which assignments, tests, and quizzes still need to be completed or retaken.  I will be sending or more specific contacts to some of you and your parents about your missing work later this week.  I will also be contacting the school MTSS team and administration about students who are currently failing or are in danger of failing.  We want to make every attempt to help you get caught up in your classes.

I have added new videos, assignment answers, and lesson notes to Schoology.  Please go there to see videos of lessons that you may have missed, and for assignments that were assigned through Envision.  I hope these videos are helpful to you!

I want to remind everyone that today is “B” day, so we will have scheduled Zoom meetings for 4th, 5th, and 6th hours this afternoon.  Please make sure that you log in to your scheduled meeting on time.  Please let me know whenever you are having issues logging in to a Zoom meeting.

I look forward to seeing you all very soon at our next Zoom meeting!  I hope to see many of you at my “open office hours” Zoom meeting today or tomorrow!

I will have “open office hours” available today from 8:15am to 10:30am.  This would be a great opportunity for you to log in during this time to go over your Topic 2 Unit Assessment to see what you may have have gotten wrong on the test.  I will award points back on your test if you can demonstrate that you understand the material for each problem.  Some of you also have missing assignments and lesson quizzes that really need to be made up!  I can help you with this during office hours.  I look forward to seeing some of you this morning during “open office hours”.

Today is “B” day, so we will have Zoom meetings for 4th, 5th, and 6th Hours later this afternoon at our normal times.  We have less than two weeks until Christmas, so let’s finish 2020 on a positive note!

Students,

Today is “A” day, so we will have Zoom meetings for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Hours this afternoon.  A reminder that 1st and 2nd Hour classes will be taking the Topic 2 Unit Assessment today during the Zoom meeting.  Please make sure that you are on time for your scheduled meeting.  I also highly recommend that you have a notebook with all of the necessary theorems, postulates, definitions, and formulas written down so you can find them easily.  You should also have a working calculator with you.  You will have the full hour of our Zoom session to finish this test.  If you need some more help in preparing for this test, then please come to my “open office hours” session this morning from 8:15am to 10:30am.

For those classes that took the unit test on Friday, if you did not do well on the test, then I highly encourage you to attend my “open office HOURS” session either today or tomorrow from 8:15am to 10:30am.  We can go over all of the questions you got wrong on the test and I will award points back for you if you truly understand what you did wrong and how to find the correct answer moving forward.

I look forward to seeing you all very soon!  Let’s have a great two weeks before the Christmas break!
