It is hard to believe it is April 1. However, March did seem like it was three months long in some ways. I feel like I haven’t seen any of you in a very long time. I hope you are all doing well. I thank for your patience through everything! Please continue to email me with all of your questions and concerns. I have spent a few hours this morning going through all of my emails and entering grades. I will be sending screencastify videos soon about this week’s assignments. Please keep up the excellent work that most of you are doing! IT WILL HELP!!!

They tell me it is my birthday today! Unfortunately, I am at home and not spending my birthday at school with all of you. Even though we are going through a national (world) health crisis, I do feel very blessed. I hope that all of you are doing well today!
I just updated all of the grades for all Geometry classes. There were a few of the assignments that were submitted that I was unable to open. If you check student connect and see an assignment is missing that you completed, then please email that assignment to me as an attachment. Please also continue to work on the current assignments for this week. I anticipate that the State of Michigan will establish some guidelines for making all of our online learning COUNT toward your overall grade. If you were under the impression that none of this work matters, then I think you will be very mistaken in the long run. I am very impressed at how most of you have completed your work. Please keep up the good work! If you have not submitted any of the online assignments, then please do so as soon as you can.
Have a blessed day!

Good morning everyone! I hope that you all had a great weekend and that you are all staying healthy! I have posted new assignment for the week in all of my classes. Please go to Google Classroom, print out the assignments and try your best to complete them by the end of the week. As I have been doing the last two weeks, I will be making screencastify videos to help you learn how to solve the problems on each assignment. These videos will come later in the week. I encourage you all to monitor student connect to see which assignments you still need to complete. Please note that I am still working through the latest group of assignments from last week. I should have those entered very soon. One of my issues is that I have three children at home who also need to use my computer to complete their homework assignments. Please continue to be patient as we work through everything together.

I have added three new assignments for all of my Geometry classes for the coming week. As I have been doing the past two weeks, I will be making and posting screencastify videos for how to solve the problems on these assignments. I will send these videos out in the middle of the week. Please read through the directions I have written for each of these assignments because I have explained some necessary steps that you should use to properly solve each of the problems. These assignments are very important because they wrap up everything we have learned throughout the unit. If we were in our normal school setting, these would be the review assignments that we use just before we take the unit test. Later in the week, I will be sending along an assessment for this unit. It will be multiple choice and I will grade it. If the state and district say that we can and should “count” all work done remotely during this period, then this assessment would end up being a summative unit test and would be the second of four unit tests. For now, it will be an assignment that I check to see how well we are learning the material. Please try your best to complete all of these assignments this week! Have a great day!

Well this is the end of the second week of the coronavirus shutdown. I sure hope that you are all doing well! There are still a few of my students that I have not heard from at all yet. Please at the very least send me an email to let me know that you are doing well, and so we can set up a plan for you to get caught up.
This weekend, I plan on going through all of the latest round of assignments that were submitted this week. I hope to have everything updated by tomorrow evening, I will also be posting three new assignments in my Geometry classes as was new assignments for the two ASAP Algebra classes. Please look for those, and start working on them when you can. I will be sending videos to help you on these problems in the middle of the week, but please try to do as much as you can first.
Once again, I really miss all of you (No cap!) That is what my son always says. However, I really do miss seeing you all each day! I sure hope that we will at least have a little time together before the school year officially ends. Please keep up the good work! I think it is very important that you stay on top of things in all of your classes because at some point, I think the decision will be made to “count” the work that was completed during this time. As I told you before, I have things set up in my gradebook that everything you submit should only help your grade. Have a tremendous weekend!

Good morning! I hope all of you are doing well! I recently posted three videos on how to solve the Ladder Safety problems. I hope they were helpful to you. The coded message assignment is also due today. Over the weekend, I will be going through all of the submitted assignments and putting the scores into MiStar. I continue to be very impressed by the quality of work that many of you have been turning in.
Next week, I will be adding three new assignments which will be due on Friday, 4/3/2020. I will also make some videos for these assignments, but try to do them before I post the videos. I purposely wait to post videos until a few days into the week because I want you to try your best on them first. Have a great day and a great weekend!

I am hoping that you are all doing well! We are now well into the second full week of the shutdown. I am so pleased with how well many of you have jumped right in and worked on the posted assignments so far. Remember that there are two assignments for the Geometry classes that are due tomorrow. One is a coded phrase worksheet involving Trig problems and the other is the ladder safety assignment.
Today, I just posted three new videos for my Geometry classes about the Ladder Safety Assignment. In these videos, I take you through how I solve each of the given problems about ladder safety. I will not be making any videos about the coded phrase Trig worksheet. That assignment is very similar to many of the other assignments we have been doing for a while. Please continue to email me with any problems or concerns that you are having. Let me know what works or does not work well for you as we go through this process. We are all learning so much as we go.
Tomorrow, I will be having a video conference with the other math teachers to share new ideas for remote learning. As always, I sincerely hope that you are all doing well and are relaxing and finding ways to enjoy yourselves. Have a great day!

The sun is out again today! That is very uplifting! I am also very heartened by the fact that a vast majority of you have been diligently working on the posted assignments and asking for help as needed. 6th Hour is at almost 100% participation and 1st Hour and 4th Hours are at about 80% complete. 2nd and 3rd Hours need to catch up a little bit, but many of you are doing great work! That is a testament to you! We learn a lot about ourselves when things in life get difficult. The fact that most of you are continuing to work hard in your learning brightens my day. I will be sending videos about the ladder assignment later in the week.
Once again, I want to draw your attention to the new class that I created which contains all of the old assignments from this semester. This is your opportunity to get caught up on any assignments that you did not turn in. If you have any missing tests or quizzes, then we need to make these up as well while we have the time during the shutdown period.
Remember, if we all do our part and stay home, then the spread of this virus will slow down and hopefully even stop. Then we can all get back to normal! I am very much looking forward to getting back to school. Have a great day!

Good morning! I hope that you have all been healthy and are adjusting to new routines. I have been going through the work many of you have been doing. I am very impressed with the quality of work that most of you are submitting. Great job! However, I have also recorded who has not even enrolled in the respective class on Google Classroom. This is very disappointing that some of you have not chosen to even enroll yet. Remember this, your participation or lack thereof sends a very big message about how much you care about your education. School officials will take notice of how many students are actively engaged. I will be sending emails later today to those students and parents who have not enrolled.
Yesterday I made a new class in Goggle Classroom which is called Geometry (Assignments prior to Shutdown). The class code for this class is: gpp4xd5. I encourage all Geometry students to enroll in this class. However, if you know that you have turned in all assignments previous to the shutdown and have taken all tests and quizzes, then there is no real reason for you to access this class. I am only putting the older assignments and quizzes on this site. I chose to create a new class for this because I will be adding 18 assignments here. That would have been overwhelming to see all of these assignments added in to the current classes. For those of you who have had any missing assignments at all, or any missing quizzes or tests, this will be your opportunity to get caught up. I will not give full credit on all of these previous assignments, but you can get up to a 60% on each one. That could be very significant because the zeros will go away and will be replaced by 3’s or 6’s depending on what the assignment was worth. You will be amazed at how much your score can improve. If you have already turned in one of these assignments, but received less than full credit, then you have the opportunity to finish the assignment or correct and receive full credit on it. Please show all work for each problem on the assignments that you submit.
I have completely updated all scores for first hour so far. I should have all other hours completed later today. Two new assignments have been added for all Geometry classes. These assignments are due on Friday, 3/27/2020. I will be making videos later in the week (probably tomorrow) to explain how to solve the problems on the Ladder Safety application assignment.
Please keep up the good work! Email me with any questions or comments. Have a great day! I really hope to see everyone again in three weeks!
New Geometry Class in Google Classroom (Old Assignments)
Hello again everyone! I have been very busy all morning setting up a brand new Geometry class in Google Classroom where I will post all of the older assignments from this semester that we worked on before this shutdown. For many of you, there is no reason to access this new class because you have already turned in all of your assignments and they are already recorded in the MiStar gradebook. I did not want to just post all of these assignments in the current Google Classroom classes for each hour because that would be way too many things in one place and you may miss the new material that I also posted today.
If you have any missing assignments from this semester, then please join this class and complete all missing assignments and send them to me by taking a picture of the completed work. Please note, I will not be awarding full credit for these assignments because they were due quite a while ago. You can earn up to 60% on each missing assignment. Believe me, this can greatly help your grade in many cases. In order to receive the 60%, you must show all of your work! Please do not just submit a page of answers.
The class code for this new class is: gpp4xd5
