Happy Friday! I hope that you are all doing well and are staying healthy! The sun is out after a good rain last night. Hopefully, we will be able to enjoy it outside this weekend!

Please remember that all of my classes have a Quizizz assignment that is due at midnight tonight. The links for this Quizizz will not be extended like last week. If you don’t complete this Quizizz today, then you will receive a zero for it in the gradebook. You can take as many attempts as you need to in order to receive a passing score of at least 60%. If you get a score of less than 60%, then please take it again. There is also a second assignment (done on paper) due this week for each of my classes. I have posted screencastify videos to show you how to do the paper assignments. Please try to submit all assignments by the due dates moving forward. Next week is the last week for Seniors! Please get all missing work made up as soon as possible! Have a great day!

Today does not look like a promising day weather-wise. It would be a great day to try to get many things accomplished for school. Please remember that tomorrow is the last day to submit the Quizizz assignments for this week. The link will expire late Friday night at midnight. Please complete this Quizizz by then. You can make as many attempts for this assignment as you need to in order to achieve a passing score. Remember that grades are due for Seniors next week. I am required to inform the school of Seniors who are failing by tomorrow (May 15). Currently, there are a few of you who fall into this category. Please contact me to establish a plan for making up your missing work!

I hope that you are all doing well and staying healthy! It looks to be a very nice day outside today! I hope that you can get outside to enjoy it a little bit today.

I want to remind all of you to complete the Quizizz assignments that were posted for each class this week. You can redo this quizizz as many times as needed to achieve a passing score. The links for these assignments expire late Friday night at 12:00 am on 5/16/2020. I will not extend the link beyond that time this week. Each class also has a paper assignment due this week. We are getting very near the end of the semester, so I will be sending emails to many students who are falling behind in my classes. Please go back and complete all of the missing online assignments so that you will receive a passing grade. Please also stay in communication with me through email and let me know how I can best help you with anything.

Have a great day today!

I hope the you all had a great weekend! I hope that you all did something special to recognize your mothers as well.

Today, I have been very busy posting new assignments, guided notes, and videos for all of my classes. Please make sure that you go into Google Classroom and check all of the new material and assignments posted there.

For the Geometry classes, one of the assignments is a new Quizizz for Central and Inscribed Angles. Please make sure that you complete this quiz by Friday, May 15. I will not extend the time beyond Friday like I did last week. Remember, if you did not complete the Quizizz assignment from last week, the new version (extended time) is only open until 4:00 pm today. The other assignment for this week is Practice 12-3. Please print this page off, write down all of the work, take a picture of the completed work, and submit it to me in Google Classroom, or as an email attachment. I made four screencastify videos for this assignment and I have already posted them for you in Google Classroom. Please do not just copy what I do in the videos. It is important that you try to make sure you understand what you are trying to find. I also posted some guided notes about inscribed angles and intercepted arcs, and a video explaining these guided notes. Please watch the video because it should help you on the assignments for the week.

Seniors, remember that we only have two weeks of school left. It is critical that you complete all of the assignments posted this week and next week. If you have any missing work from the shutdown period, then you need to complete it all by Friday, May 15.

Good Morning everyone! It looks like it will be a very chilly weekend, but I hope that it is also very sunny!

I have been receiving of the many assignments over the last few days. This will be very beneficial your overall grade. So many assignments have been coming in all at once that it is very difficult to keep track of it all. I encourage you to monitor Student Connect to verify that you receive the points for the assignments you have turned in. I still have a lot of grades to enter into the gradebook, so don’t worry if you don’t see the points in the gradebook yet. I will definitely try to make sure that everything is caught up over the weekend.

Please note that yesterday I did make significant changes to the way that MiStar is set up. I have entered an alternate grading scale to comply with the new district guidelines on grading. An “A” will appear for students who have completed at least 75% of the online work from April 20 until the end of the school year. If you receive an “A” grade, then it will improve your GPA. A “D-” will appear for students who complete between 60% and 75% of the online work from April 20 on, and if you have completed below 60% of the work after April 20, then an “E” will appear. The D- grades will translate into a “G” grade which is passing and your GPA will not be affected. The E grades will translate into an “N” grade which is NOT passing and credit will NOT be given for the class. I did hide all of the grades prior to the shutdown on March 16. These grades are still in MiStar, but I have made it so they are not figured in the current grades at this time. All of the online assignments which were completed from March 16 until April 20 are active in the grades and will help those of you who completed them. Missing assignments from March 16 to April 20 are left blank, so they do not count against you. However, all missing assignments after April 20 are given a 0 so they do count against your grade. It is very helpful to complete any of the missing online work since the shutdown began on March 16. The Seniors only have two weeks left, so it is extremely important that you take care of things this week. I am required to report which Seniors are failing by Friday, May 15, 2020.

I hope that you all have a great weekend!

Well it is very chilly outside today, but the sun is still out and it will hopefully brighten everyone’s day.

Yesterday, all Edsel Ford teachers and administrators met in a virtual staff meeting to discuss many important things for the end of the school year. One of the most important things that we discussed is semester grades, especially for Seniors. Senior grades will be finalized by the end of May. We are very near the end of the year for Seniors. We are near the end of the school year for everyone! Now is the time for everyone to get caught up on any work that you are missing from the online assignments! Many teachers are not accepting late work from their students. I probably should not accept it either, however, I do want each of you to receive at least a “G” grade (passing) grade for my class and the best way to accomplish this is by completing all missing assignments. Many teachers have also changed their MiStar gradebook to reflect the new grading system. I will most likely change the way that my gradebook looks too. The grades prior to the shutdown on March 16 will be hidden. I will show only the online grades from March 16 on. Any missing assignments from after April 20 will now receive a 0 because we are required to count all grades after April 20. I am sure this will completely change the outlook of the grades from quite a few of you. Some of you who had an “A” grade before may now fall to below 75% or even below 60%. Please finish the year strong! Most of you can still receive an “A” grade for my class. Have a great day and a wonderful weekend!

It is a little cold for May but it looks like it is going to be a great day outside today! Get out side and get some exercise and enjoy the sunshine!

Yesterday and today I have been making sure that all of your grades are in and all of your emails are answered. Please take a look and see which assignments you are missing since mid April. Start with those first and make up everything you can. If you have more time, then go back and make up all of the online missing assignments since the shutdown began in March. We really do not have very much time left in this semester. Please finish strong and make sure that you do enough to at least earn a “G” grade for the class which is passing. I cannot stress enough how important it is to complete your work. I am still very much concerned that some of you who were doing very well before the shutdown have down very little since the shutdown began. It is very possible to have had an A or B before the shutdown and still receive an “N” grade for the semester if you do not complete your online assignments. Please do not let this happen!

I sincerely hope that you all have a great day! I miss you all very much!

It looks like it will be another nice and bright and sunny day! I hope that you are all doing well!

For my Geometry classes, I have uploaded new screencastify videos for Pg. 673 (12-2). In these videos, I show you how to do each of the problems on this assignment. I also included my guided notes in this video because the guided notes provide the theorems and information that you need to solve each of these problems. Please watch these videos, write down the work for all of the problems, take a picture of your work, and then submit the completed work to me by Friday of this week. I have looked at the results of the Quizizz multiple choice quiz that many of you have already submitted in Google Classroom. What is really nice about Quizizz is that it will give you immediate feedback about how you did on each problem. You can (and should) take this quiz multiple times until you are getting most of the problems correct.

I am very impressed at the quality of work that many of you are submitting. Please keep up the good work! There are some students who are not completing their work in a timely manner. If you are missing any assignments, then please go back and do them. Remember that grades are now based on how much of the online classwork you are completing from 4/20/2020 until the end of the year. Do not pay much attention to the letter grades which appear in Student Connect! I have left them there as a reference about how you are doing for the entire semester. All grades and assignments prior to 4/20/2020 can be helpful for those students who earned good grades during that time. However, it is very important to note that some students who had A’s prior to 4/20/2020 could in fact still get an “N” (failing) grade if they do not complete their online assignments. Please do not let this happen! Remember, I am here to help you in any way I can! Please just email me with any questions or comments that you may have! Have a great day!

Happy Cinco De Mayo! I hope that Ramadan is also going well for those of you who are fasting.

Yesterday, I posted a new quiz on Quizizz for each of my classes. It looks like some of you have already completed this short quiz. I have also posted new guided notes and another assignment. All assignments for the week are due by Friday.

Some of you may be getting phone calls or emails from a member of the MTSS support team from school. They are contacting students who have not been doing the online work. It is very important to stay on top of these assignments. Remember the school year will be ending soon, so we have very little time to make-up missing work. Some teachers are not even accepting late work at all.

I hope you all have a great day! Please email me if you have any questions or concerns about anything with my class.

I am sorry that this Blog is very late today. If you have been on Google Classroom at all today, then you will see that I have been very busy adding new assignments, notes, and videos.

I have started using Quizizz which is a cool website for generating multiple choice quizzes. It will give you immediate feedback about how you scored on each attempt of the quiz. You can redo the quiz as many times as you need to. There is a link on Google Classroom for you to connect to Quizizz before you start any of these quizzes.

For the Geometry classes, I have also posted a page of guided notes for chords, a video teaching you about the guided notes, and an assignment copied from the textbook (pg. 673) about chords. The quiz and assignment will be due by Friday, May 8, 2020.

For the ASAP Algebra classes, I have also posted a quiz from Quizizz. I will also be posting another assignment either tonight or tomorrow in each class. These assignments are also due by Friday.

I am still looking into the possibility of set up virtual meetings through I-Learn and BBB (Big Blue Button). If I do set up virtual meetings, then they will not be required, but they will be a way of meeting with you each week if you need more help.
