Daily Blog for June 15

Hello Geometry Students,

My name is Mr. Daniel Reddeman.  I am a teacher at Edsel Ford High School, and I have been teaching there since 1996. I will be teaching Geometry during the Summer program.  My goal is to help you reach your goal of receiving credit for the Geometry class.  We are just getting things started this week, and I wanted to introduce myself to all of you today.  I will be sending you some more detailed information and a course syllabus and description very soon (probably tomorrow).  I am waiting for some more information from the district.  I will be setting up a Google Classroom class for you and I will be sending those class codes out tomorrow as well.  It is very important to check your emails every day!  I also have a Blog on the district’s iBlog site which is called Mr. Reddeman’s iBlog site.  Please check this Blog every day for new information.  I am very much looking forward to working with all of you!  Please feel free to email me any time with any questions that you may have along the way.  Have a great day and we will really get things started tomorrow!

Daily Blog for June 11, 2020

Today is the last official day of the semester! All grades must be officially submitted before 3:00 pm today. Therefore, please do not try to submit any assignments after 1:00 pm today because I will not be able to include them in the final grades.

It has been a pleasure teaching all of you this year! I truly wish you all the best moving forward! I will miss all of you! Please stop by my room next year to say hello to me! I hope that you all have a safe and relaxing Summer! God Bless all of you!

Daily Blog for 6/8/2020

Well here we are! It is the final week of the 2019/2020 school year! We will never forget this year! I will never forget any of you! Now, I am getting old, so next year when you walk by my room, I may not remember your name right away, but I will remember this past school year!

As I told you all earlier, I will not be posting any new assignments this week! This week is for you to make up any missing assignments that you have since the week of April 20. Please go into Student Connect and check to see which assignments have zeros. I have reassigned all of the previous Quizizz assignments from the last five weeks one last time. They are all titled with “Last Call” at the beginning of the name of each one. The links for these “Last Call” Quizizz assignments will expire tomorrow (6/9/2020) at 12 Noon. Please complete any of these that you have not already completed by tomorrow at 12 Noon. Once again, you do not need to do these if you already have done them in the past. Please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns that you may have. I am actually very pleased with the overall grades right now. The vast majority of you will end up with an “A” for my class. Once again, check Student Connect to see where your grade is right now. If you have a D- in Student Connect, then that will translate into a “G”. If you have an E in Student Connect, then that will translate into an “N” grade. I really need to submit the grades early this week, so if you are planning on making up any work, then please do it today or tomorrow at the latest. Have a great day today!

Daily Blog for June 5, 2020

Please remember that today is the due date for the Quizizz assignments. The link will expire tonight at 11:00 pm. Today is also the due date for the remaining paper assignments. Please try to have everything completed today. You will have some time next week to make-up missing work. There will be no new assignments next week. I hope you all have a great day!

Daily Blog for 6/4/2020

We are definitely getting closer to the end of the year! Please remember the last assignments are due tomorrow. This includes the final Quizizz assignment for all classes. The link for that assignment will expire at 11:00 pm tomorrow evening. I cannot believe at how many of you try to submit these Quizizz assignments long after they were due and the links had expired. I even reassigned most of the 2 times and some of you still were asking me to reassign them yet again. On a very positive note, the vast majority of you have raised your grades into the “A” range. Please just complete the assignments for this week and finish strong!

Daily Blog for 6/3/2020

I having been working all morning updating the grades and answering emails. I want to commend many of you for your hard work of getting caught up on everything. Most of you have now raised your grade into the “A” range. Once again, this is the last week of new assignments. The current Quizizz assignments for this week must be completed by Friday! I will add the assignments from this week to MiStar over the weekend. Please let me know what I can do to help you with anything! Finish the school year strong!

Daily Blog for June 2, 2020

Well today I actually went back to school to clean out my classroom. It is very strange being hear with all of you. I took the signs you made off the ceiling. It was good to see them because it made me remember you. I did make a few mistakes in my posts that I corrected. First, in Geometry, I did not attach the video for the worksheet (I attached the worksheet a second time). That is corrected. The screencastify video should be there now. Second, I had the wrong due date for the Volume Quizizz assignment. I had originally set it for June 1 at 11:00 pm. I meant to set it for June 5 at 11:00 pm. Therefore, I added a new Quizizz assignment with the correct due date. You do NOT have to do this Quizizz if you had already done it the first time.

We are in crunch time now. I have been in communication with the school about students who are failing (below 60%) or are close to failing. Those students will likely be getting phone calls either from me, or from someone else at the school. Please go into Google Classroom and make up all of your missing work as soon as you can. Today if at all possible. I need to turn in final failure forms tomorrow. You do not want to receive one of those.

Have a great day! We are almost done! Finish the assignments from this week and any missing assignments that you have, and then you will be done!!!

Daily Blog for 6/1/2020

This is the last week for new assignments! I have posted one new Quizizz assignment and one new worksheet WS paper assignment for each class. I have also posted guided notes and a video explaining the guided notes for each class. I encourage you to print off the blank worksheets and guided notes sheets and fill them out as you watch the videos. The due dates for these new assignments this week is Friday, June 5.

A quick reminder that you do have the opportunity to make up the expired Quizizz assignments if you missed any. These new links will expire tomorrow, so please complete your work by then. I am also required to inform the school of any student who is failing or in danger of failing. Therefore, some of you will likely be contacted multiple times this week by different people from the school to encourage you to complete all of your assignments which were assigned after April 20. We do not want anyone to fail. Please let me know what I can do to help you with anything.
