I will be opening up my “open office hours” today from 9:30 – 11:00 am today. Please feel free to use the Zoom link to attend these open office hours this morning. I want to remind all of you to please continue to complete the RA2: Topic 2: Readiness Assessment which is posted in Envision.
Today is “A” day, so we will have Zoom meetings today for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd hours.

Once again, with the extra testing days this week, this is your opportunity to get caught up on any missing assignments or quizzes that you may have to this point. Please take advantage of this opportunity! I currently have my “open office hours” available to you this morning until 11:00 am for anything that you might need help with. This week is the end of the first marking period, so it would be great for some of you improve your grade the report cards come out.
Geometry students, remember that you have a unit test at your next Zoom meeting. For 4th and 6th Hour, your test is today. Please do not be late for this meeting.
For all of my classes (Geometry and Algebra 1), I have added the Topic 2 Readiness Assessment in Envision (Pearson EasyBridge). Please complete this Readiness Assessment as soon as you can. You will be graded for completing it. However, please try to do your best on it, so we can get an accurate picture of what you may or may not understand about concepts that were learned prior to the upcoming units.

We do have PSAT and make-up SAT testing scheduled for today and Thursday of this week. Therefore, we will not have any Zoom classes during the synchronous time on those days. These days are considered days where you can and should make up any of your missing assignments or quizzes that you have in any of your classes. Some of you have many missing assignments and quizzes in my class that we need to get made up as soon as possible. I will open up my office hours tomorrow from 9:30 am – 11:00 am. The reason for the later time slot for this is because we do have staff PLC meetings earlier in the morning. I will also hold “open office hours” on Friday from 8:15 am – 10:30 am. This is your chance to get all of your work made up! Please take advantage of this opportunity! I am here to help you! The open office hours are also a great opportunity to help make sure that you are prepared for the unit test.
All Geometry students, please remember that at our next Zoom meeting, we will be taking the Topic 1 Unit Test in Schoology. this means that 4th and 6th Hours will be taking this test tomorrow, and 1st and 2nd Hours will be taking this test on Friday. Please do not be late for these Zoom meetings on these days. You will have one hour to take the test and your cameras must be turned on.
I will also be adding the Topic 2 Readiness Assessment for all students starting today. You must complete this Readiness Assessment! The district and the state require it. However, the score you earn on it will not affect your grade. I will award 5 points for completing it.

Good morning students! Today is “B” day on the schedule. We will have Zoom meetings for 4th, 5th, and 6th Hours this afternoon. I will also have my “open office hours” Zoom meeting open today from 8:15 am – 10:30 am. Please come in and seek help for any assignment or topic that you are having trouble with. Some of you have a lot of work to make up. The end of the marking period is next week. Report cards will be sent out.
In Geometry, we are preparing for our first Topic 1 Unit test. This test will occur next week. This morning, I have posted an answer key for the large review assignment for this first Unit Topic. This assignment will be worth 10 formative points because it is very important to help you prepare for the assessment. I will also be making screencastify videos to explain all of the problems on this assignment. The answer key and the videos will be posted in Schoology.
In Algebra 1, we will be taking our first Topic 1 Unit Assessment today. This test will be taken during the Zoom period time today from 1:05pm – 2:10pm. Please do not be late to this meeting. Please also be ready to have your cameras ON during the meeting today. You will only have 60 minutes to complete this test. The test will be on Schoology. I will not post this test until 5th Hour today.

This morning, I do need to adjust my “Open Office Hours” time frame in order to accommodate the students who will be attending a Learning Lab session today. Here is the asynchronous schedule for today:
I know this is a lot of starts and stops when it comes to virtual “open office hours”. Please be patient through this process. If you log in to get help during “open office hours” and I am not available immediately, then either stay in the waiting room, or send me an email. I will try to admit you to the meeting as soon as possible. I know it can be a little confusing, but hopefully after we do this for a while it will become somewhat routine. I will only be holding “Learning Labs” during Monday and Tuesday mornings, so I will have more opportunities for virtual open office hours the rest of the week. However, on Wednesday mornings, we typically have virtual staff and PLC team meetings, so I will not have open office hours during the entire asynchronous time on Wednesdays.
I do also want to let everyone know that I have added many new videos for each of my classes. I have made videos for each of the latest assignments. Please watch these videos to help you as you complete your assignments online. All of these videos as well as the answer keys for the assignments are posted in Schoology.

I may have some students who show up to learning labs today, so please be aware that I may have to divide my attention between students who are physically present for a learning lab and students who log in to open office hours. 1st Hour: 12:00 pm – 12:25 pm
2nd Hour: 12:30 pm – 12:55 pm
3rd Hour: 1:00 pm – 1:25 pm
4th Hour: 1:30 pm – 1:55 pm
5th Hour: 2:00 pm – 2:25 pm
6th Hour: 2:30 pm – 3:10 pm

Geometry students, please make sure that you complete the Lesson 1-1 Quiz (Qz1) by your next Zoom meeting. In Geometry we will also start to look at the next section (1-3), so please have your workbooks with you for our next Zoom meeting.
Algebra 1 students, please also bring your softcover workbooks with you to our Zoom meeting today. We will continue to work on “Solving Algebraic Equations” in Algebra 1.
