Good Morning everyone! It looks like it will be a very chilly weekend, but I hope that it is also very sunny!

I have been receiving of the many assignments over the last few days. This will be very beneficial your overall grade. So many assignments have been coming in all at once that it is very difficult to keep track of it all. I encourage you to monitor Student Connect to verify that you receive the points for the assignments you have turned in. I still have a lot of grades to enter into the gradebook, so don’t worry if you don’t see the points in the gradebook yet. I will definitely try to make sure that everything is caught up over the weekend.

Please note that yesterday I did make significant changes to the way that MiStar is set up. I have entered an alternate grading scale to comply with the new district guidelines on grading. An “A” will appear for students who have completed at least 75% of the online work from April 20 until the end of the school year. If you receive an “A” grade, then it will improve your GPA. A “D-” will appear for students who complete between 60% and 75% of the online work from April 20 on, and if you have completed below 60% of the work after April 20, then an “E” will appear. The D- grades will translate into a “G” grade which is passing and your GPA will not be affected. The E grades will translate into an “N” grade which is NOT passing and credit will NOT be given for the class. I did hide all of the grades prior to the shutdown on March 16. These grades are still in MiStar, but I have made it so they are not figured in the current grades at this time. All of the online assignments which were completed from March 16 until April 20 are active in the grades and will help those of you who completed them. Missing assignments from March 16 to April 20 are left blank, so they do not count against you. However, all missing assignments after April 20 are given a 0 so they do count against your grade. It is very helpful to complete any of the missing online work since the shutdown began on March 16. The Seniors only have two weeks left, so it is extremely important that you take care of things this week. I am required to report which Seniors are failing by Friday, May 15, 2020.

I hope that you all have a great weekend!
